Well, she’s for sale. The wife didn’t enjoy riding in it and if there’s a quicker way to stop boating than making your wife hate it, I don’t want to know what it is. We bought another boat already so it’s sadly time to let the Baker go.
I think I’ll be asking $12k.
Yea I’m sure that Bimini was acting as a drag chute. Probably coulda climbed a few more mph at the same rpm with it down. Looks like you were having a great time and ultimately that’s all that really matters!
Is it just me or is having a new transom like having a new pair of shoes. Just something about having the confidence to go running full speed without a sole tearing off 😂
Yea that’s the way it’s been since I purchased it a couple years back. It’s funny, because it wasn’t until you just mentioned it that I realized there would be a better way of doing it. The added setback against the jackplate causes it to kind of struggle up and down, although it always does...

I have high hopes! If I hate it, I’ll rip it off and continue with the paint job after the summer is over.
Today I glassed on the outer skin! Tomorrow begins the fairing process which will not be very fun at all.
You can see where I was marking the low spots on the transom, and the super low spots are circled. I tried to save myself some sanding later on by backfilling the final lamination with...
Well… unfortunately after finding some brown water drops originating behind my jack plate I was forced to explore the idea of transom rot. It’s not something I wanted to deal with in the middle of the boating season, but life isn’t fair most of the time.
I cut the outer skin away and quickly...
Here’s mine. I discovered the lower 1/3 of the transom was bad so it’s getting a brand new one right now.
Was just repainted in March, motor is very healthy. Hotfoot, billet shifter, ski pole. Interior is a 7/10, not because of age but because it was my first time doing any upholstery so and...
