I ended up coating it all with 2 coats of resin. Only downside to doing this, is that it is hard on a staple gun when you go about putting the vinyl on. The staple gun I found that was the best was the Dewalt carbon fiber T50.
A lot of people think because they smell fuel mixed with the oil that the fuel pump diaphragm went bad. 90% of the time that is not the case. Mercury even states and so does a lot of marine techs that the fuel vapors will pass through the diaphragm membrane. I have a brand new raw water pump and...
In the RDP store buying an led whip and thought well hell I don't want to get sunburned during our June trip to pirates. No hats, anyone have an eta when there might be some? Thanks
Some people may “toss” it around, however I ran a 24p and it worked great from my 22p and did what I needed. It was recommended to me by the shop to lab it to get a bit more out of it and it did just that. If you read what I posted I suggested a 24p, labbing was an option.
Get in touch with cutting edge propellers in Orange County.
Imop with your hp range you are right around a 24p (definitely a 4 blade prop). A labbed 24p might just be your ticket, it is what I run in a 24’ 450hp with a B1. Towing tubes or with a lot of bodies on the boat I swap out to a 22p.
When I talked to Max Worx about my B1, he told me 500 was pretty much the limit on a B1 with the thin floor gears. The later model B1’s (thicker floored gear) could goto 600 but to be gentle on the hole shots.
Static compression is not the same as dynamic compression. The latter is what you need to be concerned about.
Methanol injection is a bandaid and does fail. Also a roots blower is a “positive displacment“ compressor, meaning the air is always compressed and heated. Therefore you will always...
This was my placement for a w/p gauge. Canton racing makes a t-stat block off plate with a air bleed (search amazon) also got the liquid filled pressure gauge “winters” brand from amazon. Hope this helps.
Has anyone tried using Flex Seal as a waterproofing agent instead of resin for their seat risers? I had to rebuild my rear bench seat riser because the original was completely destroyed from water damage. I was thinking along the lines of how rhino lining works and thought since you don’t see...
The gimbal bearing installer alignment shaft ( long looking metal rod) will need to be cross drilled for your drive. Easy way to know where to drill, just put an o ring around it and slid the alignment shaft all the way in. When the oring makes contact with the old bearing it will move it to...

Something to keep in mind when you are finished with the boating season is to not keep the drive up in the trailer position. Once you get it home or to storage bring the drive down, this keeps from “stretching” the bellows as it sits during the off season.
You will need the following:
Hinge pin tool
Gimbal bearing removal/installation tool
Bellows seal ring installation tool (this seal installer fits onto the gimbal installation tool)
You can get these tools from amazon fairly cheap, and they don’t need to be name brand. I believe all of the...
