Depending on the size of the boat and horsepower twins do seem to be easier on the drives since they share the load. Plus you have 2 props spinning to get on plane. All of my drive failures have happened at less than 30 mph
If you need a drive rebuilt from normal use and it's just worn out. Aaron at Max Machine Worx will build you a great drive with awesome customer service
For what it's worth here's my story. Boat is a mach 26 with a whipped 500efi 725hp. I am religious when it comes to drive oil and maintenance. I baby it out of the hole, easy on and easy off the throttle. This has been my experience and I'm going SCX and wish I would've from the beginning...
I think it's funny everyone gets offended and starts making shoulda, coulda, woulda claims all over a poor quality cell phone video. Looks can be very deceiving. Desert Storm weekend brings out alot of fast boats from all over. Boats running 100' away from each other is all part of boating on...
Just got into town last night and my second AO cooler failed me. I packed it full when we left the house and when i got here there was no ice or water left in it, just a puddle underneath. I love the soft coolers for the boat but I'm over this. I have a yeti at home but that's not doing me...
Ideal? No. Possible? Yes. My good buddy has an older 27 Daytona, twin 454s, stock bravo drives, 1.36 gear ratio, 24p hydromotive props spinning 4700RPMs@76mph=3% prop slip. With the low horsepower and props burried in the water the slip percentage is very low. He would gain quite a bit more...
The Toyo MTs that I have are rated at 65psi Max. You just have to air them up to 80psi, set the tire pressure monitor relearn and then air em down to 65psi. The light won't come on till they are below 60 or 55psi. It was a little bit of a learning curve to figure this out and the Ford dealer...
I also have a 2015 crew cab shortbed 6.7 powerstroke with 35x12.5 Toyo MTs. They were breaking loose in the rain today too. These trucks have a ton of torque just gotta be easier on the pedal
I have a 2001 Mach 26 and it looks the same as the 2002 you have pictured. I believe they notched the center pod moving it forward to solve the porpoising around 65-70 mph these boats are known to have.
I just had Aaron at Max machine worx rebuild my Imco SC after breaking a tooth in the upper. All new worx shafts, bearings and gearset. He said to take it easy for the first 5 hours and change the oil. I asked the same question "what do you mean take it easy? My motor makes 750hp..." His...
Yes I had a buddy weld it in for me. My 500efi had the iron heads on it for 100hours with the 2.3 whipple. It ran great. This past winter it had 260 hours total on the motor so I did a leakdown test and had 2 cylinders that were pretty bad. I could hear air leaking past the intake and...
I have that Motor with a 2.3l whipple. I just freshened up the top end this winter and it has been a flawless setup. Runs like a champ, idles just like it did before the blower was put on. I did all the work myself and had Mark at Semper Speed and marine out of Fresno reprogram and tune the...
I have a 30' weekend warrior bumper pull that weighs 9100lbs unloaded/bone dry on a Cat certified scale. The tag on the trailer says it weighs 7800lbs Unloaded/UVW... Just saying
If you are looking for a fifth wheel toy hauler I'd look for one that weighs about 12k lbs dry. That way you can load 3000lbs of toys and water in it. Weight adds up fast in a toy hauler when you're going camping.
