So the boat takes a sec to plane, so picked up a 2” spacer to replace the 1” spacer (this drive was off my last boat as it’s a fully built MMW drive and IMCO -2 lower). Got the spacer from Barrett as he had one sitting there (thanks @Melloyellovector). Issue was how do i slide it up square and start the nuts myself. So went to Horrible Freight for a cross beam they sell that attaches to my jack, drilled some holes and attached my drive stand. Now it’s fully adjustable height and some forward back motion as well.

Lower unit, just a guess at max 75# but I’d guess somewhere closer to 50-60#. But to be able to get front and rear and straight up then start the nuts on the studs no way i could imagine anyone doing without some sort of stand or at least one more set of hands. I’d guess a complete drive at around 150-180#

I don’t know how the majority can live without their boat right there in the garage. I’m going bonkers not getting to just drag my hand across her everyday. But it’s looking like she’ll be home before years end.

I don't have nice boat like yours but I miss having it home. When it's home I'm always finding things to do to it. Probably good thing it's not here. haha

There’s always someone with a nicer boat, house, cars etc. to me i most prefer seeing stuff done to make these boats our own. Even as the fifth owner of mine and as beautiful as it was when we purchased it, it’s still about finding those little things to make it my own, as well the rest of us on here that find our own creative ways to personalize our own.

Would love to see what you have and what you’ve done. I truly find this section of RDP to be the best part of the website myself and know there’s many others that feel the same.

So as this is being done by Jay at Jakes Performance Fabrication i guess i can share it even tho i feel its going to be the cherry on top of the cake!

Worried about the blower belt/pulley and my pocket bimini, so was referred to Jakes. This one their regular guard.

903CB713-6B67-4E62-8D99-CF8B9A8105A7.jpeg

So i called and chat with him i was really wanting something a lot more simple like this.
2FF687E8-A34E-47B6-B2C3-CC74599416C1.jpeg

At which he said he didn’t make one like that.

So we further discussed ideas and i first thought just a simple plate “over” the tubing. Then all of a sudden Pauly from OCC’s Black Widow build popped into my head.
AD1E25F9-E540-4974-B6EC-4C96AAF6AD8B.jpeg

And we came up with doing the tubing Merc blue and then using stainless which I’ll polish for the plate. So it’ll be the opposite of the Black Widow build.

He’s planning to use nutserts into the X tubes then 8/32 stainless button head allens to hold the plate in. So they’ll be totally hidden. I’m stoked.

Only got a few new toys for when i get her home.
Had all yellow ropes etc from the prior boats but wife got me all Silver ones for Christmas. And then I got myself for our anniversary a Fusion Apollo RA-MS770.

Also nothing derogatory but the fuel lines and few things done, aren’t done to the perfect look. So have two boxes worth of fuel lines and fittings for when i get her home. I’ll post better pics of that when i get her home tho.

You better clean that shit up. I know you to well to have seen your face when you saw that. The pressure regulator can probably be relocated as well right off your fuel rail.

Got home Thursday, long drive but just ironmanned and went straight through. All in all most would be a-ok I’m just over ocd. These are the pics before i started yesterday, need two fittings and to finish running starboard return then the fuel system will be all back in and done. But still a few other small pieces i have to attend to as well.

Didn’t really like how this bracket looked as well needed polished.
5F95B378-229D-4455-82E4-CF2269A87D38.jpeg

So removed spent some time with the files then polished it. Looks way better imho
C7054515-92B0-4475-BDBD-EF4D0237D73C.jpeg

Buffer was out so figured to remove this little bracket then polish it.

1F897D93-1E4F-4ADB-9AE5-D4789D6A4399.jpeg

Got all polished up then went to see if i had any button head allen’s in my drawer. I didn’t but i did have some flat heads which made me go measure the material then realize this would be better yet. So tapered the top for the power steering mount and the bottom for the oil filter mount. Really how it should’ve looked to begin with.

Fuel system isn’t 100% to my standards but the last pieces won’t be here till later this week so i said F’it and just made two short hoses for now on my Y setup (dual electric fuel pumps out of a surge tank, can’t believe I’ve never seen it done this way elsewhere spot where ProCharger really killed it in my opinion)

Now seems i need a new serpentine belt that it must be loose or worn out!

🤣🤣🤣😍😍

I don't think the boat builders are really up on the latest race car parts/technology. That is a good solution for fueling.

Yea twin pumps, regulator directly back to surge, low pressure pump from tanks to the surge then surge returns back to fuel tanks. Simply makes where you always have fuel available as to not need to worry about a lean from lack of fuel condition.

She’s all buttoned up, but the weather is noncooperative, plus I’ll have to toe to Havasu as the river has been real low lately.

Spent a few hours making a template wood to do a cabinet/MAGAzine rack to store the jackets as the boat is pretty limited on storage. Got it all cut cut cut again to clear the steering hoses etc and ultimately unless i was to block part of the subwoofer cover it just wasn’t going to work out how i wanted it to look. Worse part was i had already spent a few hundred dollars on material for wrapping the board but oh well. So for now i just used some elastic strap i had with the grommets in either end so it’d use existing screws. It’s not fancy but definitely works while still looking sanitary.

New Fusion Apollo 770 installed, haven’t figured out a quarter of the options and still loving it and the sound quality difference with WiFi vs Bluetooth.
I’ve never had the opportunity to compare the two.

You really can tell the difference, eh?

Its been nearly 3 weeks since any updates here. Besides taking the time to work on my float the public wants to know what"s going on now with your DCB. ;)
Will it float, does it run, how many blondes can it carry? 😂 😂 Do you need help launching? 🤪🤣🤣

Some transom mounted parts are at powder, should be back early this week. Got tired of waiting on the wind and water levels, so said now is time to do the steps etc. if i don’t get a good level day soon I’ll probably just drag to Havasu.

But you already know that pops.

Took the steps to Detail Specialties and they shot them with their tools for GatorStep to do them same as my bow pad. Couldn’t spend that much money tho and put on the old looking aluminum. So took the steps and brackets to Precision Coating there in Havasu. Came out amazingly beautiful. First time I’ve used them, and they’re work is very impressive for sure.

Had to order some parts from IMCO for a boat i serviced and had them ship these sexy stainless trim indicator brackets vs the hose clamps and block of aluminum. Expensive but so pretty.

Got the pulley machined as well countersink washer machined to fit a flat head allen.
Before the spacer and bolt both stuck out beyond the pulley face.
B216041F-5E3F-4938-BC1B-B34C72D2F6D7.png

Now with the pulley hub machined in, and the washer now the bolt and all sit inside the pulley face which was just enough to clear the bimini boot. Still looking at some ideas to make sure they never get together and party, but still unsure exactly what.

Im digging that color for the steps, nice choice. Very nice work on the pulley. I like those trim actuator brackets, never seen that before. How is the tube secured in the bracket? Set screw?

Did you have a single DIN head unit there before? Are the Fusion internals bigger than a single din, as in will it slide into a standard single DIN hole? I know the faceplate is bigger.

Prismatic Heavy Silver.
Yea real simple set up two allens in each bracket, then a set screw in the end to hold the indicator tube. Way cleaner than the factory, i like it.

The Apollo is actually smaller than single din, but they sell a kit that back bites the head unit to the mount. I actually used it so i didn’t have to make a new aluminum back plate, but am planning to make a new one this fall when i do some more powder coat in the boat.
It’s shorter than a standard as well and the wires all plug to the head unit so less bs dangling.

Thanks. Thinking of going to one of these and their wireless remote. Have an Alpine setup now, single DIN and it has a cover over it.

I love it, and with the Fusion-Link a remote is cool at the helm so you’re not looking at phone, but i never unclick the remote i just use phone any other time.
Remote i’m talking about is the ARX70W

That is the remote I was looking at. I have the Alpine wireless remote now. It functions ok, and does what I need it to do, but the Fusion setup is definitely a step up.
