Once you make it to cottonwood springs road, it should open up. thats a couple miles before Chiriaco Summit.

I have chp traffic as a permanent web page on my phone. My wife checks traffic ahead of us before every highway that we could take instead. We do this before we go anywhere on the freeway

4 hr drive with stop at Chiriaco Summit.
Single lane east bound looks like paving inside lane.
Clears up just before the summit but starts quite a ways down the hill

You must have been in our group...we hit the jam just over that first big hill, about 3:45, cleared Chiriaco about 5:30. What a clusterfuck...so tired of hitting a shut down on one side or the other, either the 10 or the 40...need to fucking move and stop the commuting...
