10 hours in ER waiting for a bed to open up

Don't know "what you're in for", but out here there is a hell of a flu bug. Kids' fevers pushing 106 seeming to be frequent. Between the old and the young, lots being admitted for observation and such. Hopefully you're not too racked up, or they gave you some meds.

The time is only the wait to see a doctor. Unfortunately getting a bed can be the issue.

Also the actual emergencies are treated first.

I walked in and they got me right to a room. On a Monday at noon. Surgery was first thing Wed am.

Be careful what you wish for.

Good luck with KMRC. Never again.
Phoenix or Vegas for me.

79 year old mother fell. Lost balance on walker. Broke 2 pelvis bones on the small ring. Not suitable for surgery but is on fentanyl iv for pain then therapy. The small er bed is not helping

Sometimes I think the pain meds are more to calm down the injured. My Mom and my wife both come to mind...and at least a few times myself too I had a Dr hit me with enough meds that he said I'd probably pass out...5 minutes later I was up pacing again...stoned stupid, but still hurtin'.

Hang in there, both of you. Stubbornness helps out

My 83 mom fell on Christmas eve, same deal, fractured Pelvis. Ambulance ride to Kaiser at 11 PM, out by 7 a .m... She went through P.T. and it was pretty rough for her for 3 weeks due to soreness from the fall and physical therapy. I think worse than the fracture itself. Saw her yesterday, and she is tip top shape and getting a final exam today. She's been driving for 3 weeks and using a walker until she gets the green light. Prayers to your mom

About a 14 hour wait.

This - When I blew the end of my finger off, I walked to the front desk, they looked at it and took me straight back. I didn't even have to fill out any paperwork before. People sitting in the waiting room seemed pissed.
