That Winger is bitchen and I am not even an outboard guy. How fast do you think it will do with the 250?

So why the 250 and not the 300? I know they weigh the same and I don't think the cost is that much different.....?

Cool pieces. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how well the 250 Pro runs.

Looking forward to the progress and updates.

What’s your estimated cost when completed? Great looking early morning evening runner.

Capacity plate is exceeded. Insurance will have a fit when there is an accident.

Just like my boat, 19’ Hallett is rated for a 150hp. But it came from the factory with a 225hp. Go figure 🤷🏼‍♂️

Most of the differences 250 V 300 are in the computer, did not see the value to spend more for 300 stickers in the XS product line vs what performance gains (minimal) I would have got. Cost between the two varies depending on what kind of pricing your getting, dealer, demo, or retail. In this case the better deal for me was the 250. Part of me wishes we jumped up to the R series just for the cool factor, but the boats so light I think we will see some real promising numbers with the current set up. I better see you at the river run this year!!!

Gotcha! Glad I was able to get the real answer and not everyone's assumed responses.

Im going to try to make it, but Its not looking too promising. We have to go to Mead to spread my wife's uncle's ashes in June sometime so I dont think we are going to be able to afford 2 larger trips.

Is there a factory coned lower with low water pickups available for these new motors or just the standard deal? If it can handle the weight of that engine, I think it'll be a great package. Should run in the 90s if you can get the prop shaft where it wants to be.

The 250sx' run strong and from what I've seen on my 28 Skater they out accelerate the 300sx' due to the shorter stroke. + DBR tune it will rip.

The good ol' Sportmaster. Not too sure if its available on the non-R engines though.

Fantastic. That engine can't weigh more than an Iron Big Block/Jet combo, can it?

Forgot to update. Winger is all done, ran in the 90’s with a 30p cleaver. Still need to do some fine testing but we’re moving in the right direction!

No. Considerably less weight than an iron BBC. Not sure how much a complete jet pump setup weighs but add that too.

Apples to oranges...a BBC isn't hanging 2 feet off the back of the boat. I'd be curious to see a pic of it just sitting in the water....I'd bet the stern sits lower with the OB than with a jet.

As far a CG goes, sure. Looks damn good with that V8 whacker on it if you ask me! Quiet, reliable, efficient and fast as hell.

I saw this boat in person a few weekends ago and wanted to see the waterline with the v8 hanging off the back…. I was very impressed as I could not see a difference (going off memory) vs a bbc.
