For Sale a Beautiful Southern California 1970 Mustang Mach 1….. $29,900 usd

1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Sportsroof, 351C-4v M code engine. The car has FMX Select Shift Cruise-O-Matic transmission. This muscle car is optioned nicely with Selectaire Air conditioner, tachometer, power front disc brakes, power steering, sport deck rear seat and lots more.

This Mach 1 is a true Southern California car spending its whole life there. This car was bought new at Warren Anderson Ford in Riverside California. I bought the car in 1992 in Riverside also. It stayed in Riverside till 2006 when I moved to the High Desert of Southern California. It even has the original 1970 California blue license plates, which was the 1st year for this type of plates.

These were my favorite Mustangs so when I got the car I thought I was going to keep it forever. After driving it on weekends for a few years I had the engine rebuilt, the transmission was also rebuilt at same time. The car was then painted to Medium Blue Metalic (Q code) with the hood stripes properly done. I then took it to Bates Upholstery in downtown Riverside, who specialized in Mustangs, to redo the interior. I did try to keep the car as original as I could but It has an MSD ignition and a different carburetor but I have the original points distributor and 4 barrel carburetor that will be included with sale.

The car was so beautiful when it was done that I decided to put it away as a long term investment. In September 1999 I parked the car in temperature controlled storage with 29387 miles showing on the odometer. The car currently shows 29911 on odometer with most of those miles being the drive to the high desert.

In April of 2019 I brought it out of storage, took it off of non-op and paid DMV registration and drove it around. Much to my excitement the car started and ran fine, shifted as built. It has a shift kit so it will chirp the gears if so desired.

After I took it out of storage I put on new 15 inch Magnum 500 steel rims and raised white letter tires. I detailed it, changed the fuel lines, installed new battery. Took it to a small local car show and won 1st place for best car.

I have the Marti-Report and many pictures to high light all the cars features. The car has zero rust and needs very little to put it over the top as one of the nicest 50 year old cars out there. I feel $29,900 is a fair price for a car of this condition. Feel free to ask questions or for more pictures you would like to see.

nice car and good luck with sale. Just curious if you got $30k for it was it worth it for the long term investment? If you count the storage fee's and everything once you decided to not drive and keep until the value went up more. I have had this discussion with my friend a few times where we wonder if we could make money storing cars to sell later. We always come to the conclusion that we would loose money with storage fee's or it would be too big a risk if the car never went up in value if you kept it for lets say 30 years.

For me it works out because I always had property where I could store it for free, put it on non op and didnt insure it while in storage. So it basically has cost me close to zero after the initial investment. Now if something had happened to it while it was in storage I would have been SOL. but no bigger a gamble then the Kmart stock that I lost all my money on years ago.

Bitchin car, My uncle won a new ‘69 Mach 1 in ‘68 and gave it to my Mom. Red on Black. I remember the funky way to honk the horn you had to squeeze the wheel in a certain spot
