Just picked up a 1975 hallett 19’ jet boat hull only. I don’t know if this is the right forum but in restoration of this hull I’m wanting to get rid of the jet and put an outboard on it. Was curious if anyone has knowledge in doing this or can tell me if it’s a bad idea. Any info would be appreciated.

Welcome to the itch TP! 😁 Nice little boat you've got there. Are you in SoCal?? I could swear I saw this same exact boat for sale out in Perris a few months back. Seller had several boats sitting in a yard. Anyways, cool deal for sure!

Cut that pump out, remove any rotted wood from the transom and check the stringers for any rot. Replace the core of the transom, beef it up a bit, glass everything in and you're ready to hang a motor. It really is that simple! 😁

Let us know where you're at project wise and I'm certain a lot of folks will help with advice. Keep us posted!!
