Added a crossbeam here and this will have a fixed anchor that will keep the boat going forward. Makes it easier to winch on and not guess how much forward or reverse you need to go. Also seeing what happen on the 91 frwy with the wake boat. I rather be safe.

Finally time to disassemble.

Ready for powdercoat on Monday. Taking it to Embee in Santa Ana. Finally time to focus on something else.

Man this turned out SUPER nice! There are so many cool ideas throughout the entire build! Badass work my friend!!! 👍👍

What color did you decide on, and why powdercoat over paint? Not dogging on your decision, just curious is all. Can you share what Embee quoted you for the PC, and what their turnaround is??

Bright silver to match the interior.

Reason for powdercoat is because it's a one stop shop.

With paint you have to sand blast, shoot primer and then paint. Meaning I would drop it off at the sandblaster, then pick up and drop off at painters. I try to take the least time off work as possible. Powdercoat seems the quickest.

Pricing I'm not too sure yet. I'll let you know tomorrow.

Life was on hold for a week. Got married last Sunday. So had to prep for the wedding last week. No boat content.

Stopped by embee on Monday. It's all blasted and ready for powder. Hopefully get it by Friday.

Started to work on the midsection. Big cast aluminum piece that's all wavey. I've decided to paint this instead of powdercoat. Only because I can add filler in some certain areas to make it look smooth. Will be painting it with Imron paint.

Bought epoxy primer and DuPont Imron.

More progress on the midsection today.

Added filler (duraglas) to smooth it out.

Then sprayed another coat of epoxy primer. Should be ready for paint tomorrow.

Thanks man!

I'm just learning as a go. I'm a big go getter.

Only thing I wish is I took more time on this build. Everything is kinda rushed cause I want it done quick. Maybe later on in life when I pick a nicer boat ill take the time and try to do a build like yours. Definitely inspired me.

Pulled the engine off. Should be ready tomorrow to bolt on the new mid section.

Sometimes I ask myself why I take apart things that are just perfectly fine.

Cause always trying to go faster. 🤣

Little more progress today.

Assembled the clamp/trim ram and mounted the motor.

Wing plate is here on Monday for the steering.

This should definitely bring the prop more out of the water. 2" additional set back is also a plus. Can't wait to test it.

Damn that's so badass!! I didn't realize that mid had a built-in setback. You should pick up quite a few MPH with all you've done! As always, your work is AMAZING! 👍

Thank you!

Sometimes I feel like I'm annoying people on this forum with too much to post.

Slow progress today.

Wrapped the bunks. This is something I will probably pay someone else to do later on at the launch ramp. I could not cut the carpet straight for the life of me.

Easy fix. Next time buy Attwood PN11246-1. It’s marine grade bunk padding sold in 8” wide rolls. Made of polypropylene and coated with PVB so you get durability, UV protection and it dries fast. Just about the right width to leave the bottom seams open too and that’ll help with drainage/wood expansion.

I know you’re on a truncated timetable but if that’s nylon based material I’d pull it once you have some downtime after the season.

BTW progress looks amazing. The trailer came out great! Def keep posting thoroughly and often as I enjoy the diy content most. 👌🏽

Finally on the ground. Need to get a lower drop hitch. Going to mount the fenders this weekend and we're ready to go.

I'm glad I didn't add more amber lights. Wanted to keep it simple and not a semi truck.

Lmk if there's something y'all would change. Pretty happy with this for the first trailer I've made.

Pretty much done. Mounted the fenders, fender carpet guard thing or whatever you call it. Loading the boat next week. This was definitely a learning experience. Hopefully it works and doesn't fall apart on the frwy. 🤣

Missing license plate holder and rear tie down mounts. Ordered some 1/2" eyelets for that. My mistake.

Man that came out nice. Almost shameful to hide all those pretty welds, but like many of these deals the final product is a sum of the parts and skills used to put it all together.

Well done sir.

Chris, can you share a picture of what the VIN looks like since this is registered as a home built trailer? Did you end up with a sticker, or???? How did that work and what does it look like?
