These are the snap rings for the intermediate clutch pack
The top right is stock .095 the lower 1 is a stock ring out of a torgueflight trans it is .110. Top right is a Spiro lock and is .085
This is what holds the 2nd gear clutch pack in the case the stock ones are know for popping so u can get the thick 1 which has more tension to it or the Spiro lock which is not going to come out!!
Now u also need to remember this mostly happens in the automotive world and may not be needed in a boat trans if u plan on not using second gear very hard. But it’s also cheap insurance. About. 12.99 for the Spiro!!!!!!

So as I’m waiting on parts one of my customers transmissions shop is closing down,so he tells me grab whatever core parts I want??
So I see this trans in the back with the HD on it and ask him what’s up with it he said it’s his last core and for sale??? Price was wright. I grabbed it!!!!! It was out of like a 2 ton bobtail with E brake drum on tail so I tore it down and it was like new inside!! Cleaned it up and transferred my parts over!!!

So the front pump was like new on the HD trans!! So rebuilding it for my boat trans. I came across this upgrade to restrict the fluid to the converter. I have no converter jus the power adapter!! So don’t need all that oil flow up there for nothing when it could be going somewhere else!! So I tapped the hole 5/16-18 with a starter tap jus a few turns and use a set screw, drilled it with a .125 drill bit and locktite it in!!

I've seen that boat before on the Delta. That first picture is Discovery Bay Ski Beach. I think the guy brought it to one of the Dog & Andy V-Drive deals last year. I don't know anything else about it. Nice boat.

So I picked up this nice KE intercooled on OSO awhile back. Got it and put it on the shelf!!!
So I pulled it out to check a few things and was looking in the holes and seen some crap?????
So I took off the end cover and looky here!!!!! WOW??? Really!!!
That would have been a bad deal !!!

So cleaned it up. There was like big chunks of wood stuck in the passages, blew them out most of them are clear now but 2 are clogged was using some bailing wire and got most of them clean but 2 so gonna find something alittle more heavier!!

Not my first choice out of the 4 that I have but the best fitting to the engine

Still a good manifold tho!!
I picked it up quite a few years ago at a swap meet and jus wanted to make sure everything was flat and square only .003 off the bottom and about .006 off the top!!!!

Can’t find a name it says 12. 15
But I measured from center out to the edge of 1 blade and got 5.5. So looks like it’s been worked over

I was under the impression Stainless wasn't good in these kind of applications as it more of a risk to throw a blade at high RPM as it doesn't flex. Not trying to thread jack or anything just curious.

Have dual cable set up!!
Didn’t like the 2 into 1 bolt set up??
Bolt was super loose in the hole and beat up!!!
This is 7076 alum with 2 separate bolts and swivels. I hope it will work for a hyd steering set up later down the road

Straight from the polisher to the mill and was off a little
I like this style carb adapter?? Don’t know why?
Maybe because the blower has a fuel enriched atmosphere to suck from instead of those little 3/4 thick plates not sure if it’s gonna make that big of a diff. Will see what she does on the Dyno???

Here’s a little inside shot
Modified the c-500 side of safety loop that’s bolts to the 500 was pretty shady????
And last year I made a new driveshaft with spicer lifetime 1350s both ends and forged slip yoke. The old 1 had a 1310 in it???
Never mind the mess memorial weekend is coming fast!!! And I’m thrashing????

Like what you're doing here, I might have missed it but what are the specs on your engine/blower/v-drive gears ? You know you sorta grabbed this boat out from under my nose, I live in Va.

Sounds good, she oughta run . I use a 10:71 on a 548 ci with a bullet solid roller and 12 psi boost. It runs pretty good and has been very reliable. I also run 48% gears with a 11 3/4 X 16 Menkens 2 blade. You'll probably have to try it out to find the best gear set up.

And thats where the C500 gets painful. Trying out gears is not an easy (or cheap) proposition.

I cant wait to see some vids of this thing running. Everything looks so good on it! Keep up the work.

Ain't that the truth. Depending on what you're doing with the boat might be better going to a split case. Another thing to look carefully at is the way the prop shaft fits in the output flange. Any slop in there and you have the potential for a big issue. There are a couple fixes for that.

Little update on the trans!!
WORKS KILLER!!!
Can feel a harder hit from drive threw neutral to reverse
That regulator spring pumped up the pressure????
Still has some drag on the clutches in neutral but not as bad as before I hope it will get a little better as everything breaks in

Bill it was great to meet you again at Berryessa. The boat looked and sounded killer. It was so rough, you were showing a lot of fin. [emoji106][emoji106] We will have to meet up on the Delta sometime.
