Last July I found a 270 that fit my family’s needs pretty well. It was clean, well taken care of, the colors weren’t hideous, and it was ready to go. The boat seemed to scare some interested buyers off due to the fact that it had “a lot of hours”. I wasn’t worried... worst case, I build a new engine.

Well, first trip out (4th of July weekend last year), I had a roller split in half on one of the lifters coming back towards the lake from the gorge. Not the best thing to have happen with twin one year old boys on board. I was able to idle the boat for 3 hours back to the launch ramp. Good idea? Who knows. I didn’t grenade anything in the process and my boys were sound asleep. This seemed better than the alternative of waking them up in 100 plus degree weather. Fortunately, mom is a trooper and hung in there for the 3 hour trip.

Fast forward a few months, a 564 went in, I was able to find a brand new (old inventory) bravo 1, new snap in carpet was made and installed, and a new steering wheel went in to update things. We have had it out twice this season so far and couldn’t be happier.

Nice job. When one problem arises a better solution awaits.

Great looking boat and family [emoji106]

How does that new mill perform?

Not bad... still dialing it in and playing with props. Last trip with a 26p and 4800 rpm I was somewhere around 70 and running out of fuel. I’ve since swapped the fuel pump and fuel/water separator and have run -8 supply lines. I knew the fuel supply was going to be the weak link, but wanted to get on the water before I had the extra cash to do the fuel system.
