1st 32 Spectra with Gale Banks Turbos

Brent, I noticed over a decade ago you were trying to put together a Spectra regatta. Has there been any talk about that in recent years? Would love to try to help put that together. I've had my Spectra for the last 2 and 1/2 years and would love to get together with other spectrum owners. Ours is the 1977-24. These are pictures of us at skunk harbor on lake Tahoe where we spent the night.

Yes, I think it would be fun, my 24 is almost finished.

What are you working on on your Spectra. We are installing new EVA foam flooring this weekend. We are heading to lake Powell in a couple weeks for 10 days. Here are some more pics. Can you send me some pictures of your Spectra??

Burt Court's boat. I had a ride in it testing prior to the Catalina Ski Race that he won in 1979 I believe, pulling Chuck Stearns. At that point it was the largest fast boat I had been in, I was impressed.

Oddly enough, in the past several years I have built two different pairs of engines that went into 32 Spectras. One is in Havasu, the other moved to Kentucky. Both of them RDP members.

Yep, I know that. I met him when I worked at Banks, then continued the friendship when I helped open Rex Marine, and in fact almost went to work for Burt later on.

Burt was a great guy. Grew up boating with him. GT got his start with him as well.

Exactly. I built quite a few engines for GT in the mid 90's while I was running my unrelated business full time.
