20SS is short for Super Sport, the 20' v-bottom hull either in a full cabin or with a well for an outboard
20ST is short for Super Tunnel, the 20' tunnel bottom
21RC is short for River Cruiser, the 21' v-bottom
21RT is short for River Tunnel, the 21' tunnel bottom
22DC is short for Day Cruiser, the 22' v-bottom
22OB is short for Open Bow, 22' v-bottom open bow (I can't remember if this was specific to the whaler or if that had a different mark)
24WE is short for Weekender, the 24' v-bottom

There are a few more that I cannot think of off the top of my head, but all of these markings are actually part of the HIN embedded into the hull of the boat. I guess when there is something with a following everyone wants to associate with it. I have a scan of a price list from 1987. I think I'll ad it to the forum with old boat ads.

Your boat looks awesome. I saw it at Schiada in Long Beach a couple months ago. I'm glad to see the resurrection of an abused Schiada. I am a fan of the 22's. My dad has a 22' V-drive and a 22' Whaler and I have a 21' See ya at the river.

So I have a 1995 20' outboard with the Mod VP bottom. What is the correct terminology for all this? Perhaps it's not a Mod VP bottom. School me BamBam!

You have a 20ST "Sport Tunnel" I'll post that when I get home (in a couple days). Look at your HIN it will say "SMO" (in 1995 it should be SMO) or "SDA" and then "ST" then a series of numbers and letters which can decode year, and a bunch of other info.

thanks buddy for the compliments. ya she's really coming along. I'm thinking/hoping about two more weeks.my dad is looking for a 21rc if you know anybody selling one in the $50k price range. thanks. yep...see you at the river sir.

Another drone still frame off the coast by Emerald bay. Tough to take the pic, the shot gun guy was trying to flight the drone, angle the camera, watch the screen in direct sunlight, tell me where to drive, face the camera, smile....and hold on all at the same time!!!! pretty funny to watch

But I haven't figured out how to post images. Oh well. It's a 76' 21' RC

Yes, it is! I shot some pix when Lee first delivered it. Lee got a phone call that photos of the boat were on the internet, some joint called River Dave's.

Ummm we've been divorced for almost a year now! And she didn't have my balls in her purse like most of these guys lady's do. I chose boats over her according to what she says. Lol
