Any 20Ft. outboards out there for sale?

My brother Mats might want to sell our Schiada. Boat was upgraded, restored and re-rigged by Al Stoker. 2001 Evinrude 225 H.O. Rude Ram rigged new 2003,(just about 200 hours now). Paid more than $20K for her and then spent more than $33,000 on upgrades the last 6 years. A $5,000 Alpine stereo just installed 3 months ago. $1,800 engine service just done with new twin battery set-up installed by Al. Boat is not mint, but very, very nice. Absolutely turn-key and is a 10 out of 10 mechanicly. Good overdimentioned trailer.

Call (818)800-2800 if interested. Mid $20's O.B.O.

Yes, the previous owner had a need for those jet ski mounts. There's a toolbox up front too of course. Thanks for the compliment on the boat Dave.

Regards, Lars.

The Schiada 20SS have the same bottom as the 20' inboard. Length 20'

and Beam 84". It's a 15 degree straight vee with two lifting strakes per

side. The hull does really well in rougher conditions and even before We

had our boat beefed up with bigger knees, thicker transom and other re-

enforcements during restoration, the hull was totally without flex. 0-60

mph in less than 8 seconds and a top speed in the 70's! These hulls track

perfectly, no hint of chine walking, recover great and ride really well in

rough water swells.

Question came up after my words on the Schiada 20SS hull design. I want

to clarify that We have ONLY used her in FRESH WATER and the same

goes for the previous owner.

Sweet boat! So are the 20's the same bottom as a 21 rc just with less freeboard? Boat looks like it will get with it!

Kinda... Here's a history lesson. 1972 Leonard Schiada built his new 22' "DayCruiser" it was too long (21'7") to ski race. Leonard took a tape measure to the boat and cut down exactly enough to make 21' and built a new mold and deck. Ergo in 1975 along came the 21' River Cruiser we all love to this day. Then (don't know when) they decided to build the 20. Just cutting the freeboard worked in the back of the hull, but as it approached the front they ran out of hull/side. So the bottom at the transom is the same as the 21' and 22' but the nose has been modified a little for the length.

Quoting Honorable Stan at Schiada;

"We did make some changes on the 20 when we tooled it. The plug came from the 21 mold, but when Leonard Schiada tooled it he narrowed it by taking only a couple of inches out of the keel and he added about 8 feet of rocker to it. Back in the late 70's and early 80's the water was not as ruff as it is now with all the big boats out there so the 20 would carry more with less horse power. The cockpet is smaller than the 21 so there is not that much room for a back seat".

P.S. Correction of my stats. The 20 is actually 19'8"(not like I said 20') with a 84" beam and the 21 is 21' with a 89" beam. The 20 was built between 1978 and 1992, but Schiada still have the mold ready if anybody wants to order a new one :thumbsup D.S.

Holidays are over and to the right buyer there's now a Valentine's price on her. She's ready to play(turn key) and for a cash donation of $20,000 o.b.o. she's Yours for the foreseeable future. That's $5,000 less than she ever hoped to give herself up for :champagne:
