I have a 2005 Ram 3500 Quad Cab dually, diesel, 6 speed stick, 2wd, Laramie trim with 98,000 miles. Trying to get an idea of value since it seems like truck pricing is all over the board. Anyone with a similar truck buy, sell or trade one in recently?

That Dodge in Phoenix is fetching 15-20. The manual makes it real desirable to some, especially a hot shot guy starting out. I have seen comparable 3500's going for 25ish, being as though this is a low mileage one. That said, I don't know what the market is like by you. Out where I am, every rancher needs the 4wd, so it wouldn't be as desireable...me personally though, that is a great truck!

I just saw one listed/sold at around $26k on Str8up toy trader. It was similar but 4wd. I have an 05 SLT 3500 DRW 4wd with the 6 speed and about 120k miles. SB clutch and a PAC brake...I wouldn’t let it go for less than $30k.

Truck market certainly has changed for the better. I was going to trade my navigator for this dodge in Florida. So approx $10k two years ago? But it wasn’t a real 3500...

My RAM dually is a 14. It has about 50K miles, manual transmission 4wd. I got a quote to trade it in on a new dually recently and they offered me 30K. No thanks

every 2x2 owner I have known has kicked themself for not getting a 4x4. But again, that was at Glamis
I put 500k on a 2wd 3500. It served it's purpose well. It was a tow pig. For my purposes, it was less stuff to maintain or worry about. The trailers I was towing were not ever going down washboards, or mud holes.

15-20K?????

This is consistent with KBB value. I'm in NorCal, and dealers are asking sticker price for 2019 models with 38-40k miles on used trucks. With that in mind I'm inclined to think book value isn't what the market value is.

I understand....that was just off the top of my head based on what I was offered. I told them if they gave me 40K, transfer my 100g aux tank and air bags to a new truck we could work it out. They couldn't or wouldn't go there so.....still have my truck. :)

The new duallys sure are nice

I tend to agree with you especially since the market seems to be all sorts of off kilter.
