I bought some last year to do the same thing. Looks nice, and should help with night loading.

Yes........... if I’m ever out at night lol. Saw another on here forever ago and well just had to copy it lol.
I like! Are you switch activating in some manner or will they be on full time with the trailer lights?

Tied directly into the running lights, when i was originally planning to do the Trux brand that were amber/blue i was going to add a two way switch but with using the solely amber felt no need to do any switch at all.

So needed a new battery so i bought two new sealed battery’s instead of just one new Interstate. Went with two FullRiver DC85-12’s

Of course nothing can be easy, and they were 9/16” taller than the existing battery’s so the top cap wouldn’t hold them down with the existing tabs. Knowing the Dave originally built these boxes i hit him up to build me some new down tabs, he said no problem. But then we got talking about rather than getting all involved and making same style tab could just make round basically rods instead. Bag i had some 1” in the garage so just to get on the water the next day i used a chop saw and drill then tapped them.

Dave was going to build me some nice and correct ones, but i got thinking i have more time than money these days. Couldn’t quite figure how to get smack dab in the center to drill them after i cut them all out.
then thought to use 🤦🏼well a piece of 2x4 and a 1” wood bit. Once i drilled it about half way the wood but left a center from its pilot so a quick run with a drill bit the rest the way and i now had center. Was this the best way? Probably not but it worked. Stick the aluminum in the hole flip and drill. Pull out set on the drill press and drill then go back and tap then the fun of chamfer the hole the top and bottom, sand with some 400g then polish. Not perfect but well pretty damned close and I’m happy with the outcome.

Not to knock any shops but i personally didn’t like the wiring that was on it so have slowly when time allows been cleaning it up and putting in mesh solid loom vs the plastic split loom.

Well today was bittersweet, i kicked the idea of selling this boat so many times yet when offers were on the table i just couldn’t do it. Well with the purchase of a new boat we had to sell this and well it made this journey end. She was an absolute blast i learned so much with everything i did, but she’s moved on to a new home. We will miss the Crazy KAT.
