If anyone is interested the 35$ polished power steering reservoir was literally a direct fit and personally feel a gorgeous upgrade for the money. Think I’m about done with this turd for the season can’t even think of anything else to do, other than a little more zip tie work in the engine area

Maybe I’m the only one waiting to hear the sound of those new headers and S pipes? How’d you like the change??

I tried to post a video at the shop pre-S pipes, i never did hear it in hose before I’ll admit but sounds way healthier, i started in garage on hose sounds good still. When i picked it up from E-Ticket i dropped in water to realign on trailer as when Saleen had it off trailer to fix bottom it didn’t get pulled all the way up. While on trailer the tips sit under water so really sounded boring still will see how it sounds soon hopefully out on the water.

Do the pens wipe off the vinyl easy?

I was extremely careful, but yes it will all wipe away slightly while wet/preironed i can text a close up if you want. I’m extremely excited with exception i burned the shit out of the center (between forward speakers) panel. But.... with all bad comes good, took to my local upholstery shop he told me 50$ to redo panel best is he has to scan logo to then put in his machine to redo so now that logo will be available for a hat if you’re interested as well. I already plan to have him do me and the boy a hat or two. Going to do in small print on rear CrazyKAT lol

Has anyone ever used these?? Just ordered 8 of them hopefully they work good, regardless they have to work better than the little ovals with eBay 194 led lights View attachment 622373

omFg just got home and the box of these lights showed up. I was a bit hesitant about them at 40$ each being they were 100$ each, and Rigid Industries discontinued them. Well not that i wish i paid more but good god these were actually worth the 100$ they list for. Cannot wait to install them, will not be a plug and play as what i have now is the small oval lights and only a 2 wire (+ -) and I’ll need 2x + and a -, and to make hole a little bigger as well figure how to hide the screw holes in 3 of the 6 and then add the 2 more as i bought 8, wish i would have bought 12 instead as I’m giddy and have all kinds of ideas. Anyway amazed no one has these yet.

Quick question, going to hard pole my bimini, has cloth straps now, have all the hardware as well tubing now I’m trying to wrap my head around a good solid mount for when the bimini is down, to hold the poles. One on each side will want to fall to the floor the other will have no way of keeping it laying on the forward tube of the bimini. Seen the plastic clips and I’m sure that will work great for the front one that will lay on top even though it’d be ugly, but highly doubt it’d keep the one that will want to fall down secure.
I’ve seen on a buddies Magic some ss or aluminum clamp type deals to hold all in place, anyone with a recommendation?

So Amazon delivers..... got all my stainless hardware just had to go to local metal supply store for 10’ of 304 and then pull the dingy out and go at it.
706FED5C-C2A1-4851-87BC-BA0315CDE6DA.jpeg

Was able to do only the rear as the jaw clamps wouldn’t go past the bends up front but I’ll go see the upholstery guy and see if he knows any tricks
BFD83F8F-2A38-4C06-BD71-AAF0CCCFA3D4.jpeg

Kinda nice right here as putting the cover on takes all of 60 seconds now vs having to fight with the whole damned bimini will also work nice for when we are trying to get somewhere a little faster won’t have to completely put bimini away and easy to put right back up after we get there!
0747C4A3-DC91-4DC4-8AC9-D43FC5EA2782.jpeg
Just really need to find the little clamp guys for holding the bars otherwise I’ll probably just drill the threads on the jaw clamps and have to remove the tubes all together when putting it back under the motor cover, that will be cheaper but not as clean and organized so......

Try Sailrite.com that's where I ordered all the stuff to make my SS bimini poles.

I opted to have a friend tig weld em up once I got them all set with the set screws.

And the ugly, either a bad badly plugged fuel filter, or somehow the fuel gauges aren’t right all of a sudden possibly different ohm on gauge to sensor as shows over 1/4 tank on the port tank... or something real real goofy. Was running great then all of a sudden fell on its face and died out, then started back up and on the way well the third time it just wouldn’t start.
SeaTow had no captains as what they said so got ahold of a buddy and he tugged our asses about 4 miles up river back to jack smith, best was he didn’t even get launched then to us till after 8:30

So both tanks were empty? Or "1/4" full?

Either way... shitty situation! And being the only person on the water ptobably has got to be a lonely feeling!!

I know on my 26’ Deck, 1/4 tank reading on the gauge = almost empty. Gauges only read correctly when flat on the trailer, once in the water the readings are never accurate

My old boat would run out at 1/4 tank - learned the hard way lol. My Daytona is accurate on the water. Once it gets to E i know I got a good 5-7 min at speed before it runs out

It’s in garage now and still shows 1/4 tank on the starboard tank. I’m not sure wth but I’ll know now regardless lol

Maybe you ran out of gas

Last summer with the old gauges i could go to E but same sensors in tanks new gauges. I’m going to buy a new fuel filter as well fill up with 40 gallons and see what happens

I have had issues w my gauges and actually they are currently not working. But I think I was told they can be adjusted to read differently

When I had my 496 in the boat, the 25p was the money prop.

Maybe your fuel switch wasn't working and didn't change tanks?

No i actually watched the lever move from T1 to T2 i made sure to check that also.

When I had my 496 in the boat, the 25p was the money prop.

Yea it worked great and bet it’ll be the heat of the summer prop for sure. But if and when i get this pos running it’s already rocking the 27p lol.

So put 22 gallons in each tank and tried to fire it up....... well yep ima say my gauges are ok and well- Still didn’t start.

So nobody in this joke of a town has the fuel filter i need so ordered off Amazon should be here Monday which I’ll be playing at work all weekend anyway, but i pulled the filter out and looked at it and inside the housing it’s clean clean, thinking possibly fuel filters sure asF hope not.

So quick question to anyone who knows the 496’s with the canister filter vs the screw on, will the housing fill up when you turn the key on or just barely dribble?

Did you notice more stern lift with that 25p prop?

Maybe this. I got rid of that motor 8 years ago. My tanks had water and I had to dump this thing out multiple times. Not sure is this is the cool fuel as well

If you haven't poured the fuel out yet, pour it into a jar and let it sit for a bit. If there is water, it should show some separation. That's the only way I could ever tell in those separators. Do you have an inline filter before the separator? Change it also.

Yea inside that box when you remove those three bolts and then lift out that canister is where the canister filter as well a disc filter i have both coming from Amazon, but i put that plastic three bolt cap back on with no filters inside and still same thing.

It’s like it wants to start cranks and then will fire bluh bluh bluh duh dead. I’m going to check for spark next and most likely just replace the plugs again, then if that’s not it look into the fuel pumps and see.

Issue is the pos was running amazing, then stumbled and died once, fired back up and ran great again we stopped and went three or four more times on the way up river then we were cruising 35-40 and blah dead and nothing since other then the bluh bluh bluh duh dead

I usually pull about 5 gallons out per side when I start the season, i connect a hose with a primer bulb to the fuel line before the filter. I siphon it until it starts looking good again, usually when it's bad my the rpms will bounce on my 7.4

Did you mix the fuel stabilizer in or did u just throw it on top?

Put it in on top then drove around. But as i said i made a few hot laps as well cruised down to the other side of Topock bridge then back above Rainbow beach marina then again down to park moabi then was on the way back to Jack Smith when it took a dump

While you're in a tinkering mood, look for loose connectors and grounds. Things that may not have gotten buttoned up tight when the exhaust was being done. Easy to do and no cost. Often times it's the simple stuff. I've seen more than one good tech chase their tail for hours because of the basics being overlooked.

With the Dana headers, did you reset the fuel pressure regulator?
I know mine had to be reset twice, once with headers, once when ECU was reprogrammed.

So just as I’ll be able to see the fuel pressure I’m getting ready to order a fuel pressure gauge to match i just need to order another gauge but cannot think of what else to order so i can keep everything symmetrical or just put one gauge between the speedo and tach.
I have 2x fuel level, oil pressure, water temp, volts, and trim now, but they don’t sell an electric water pressure any help?!?

Mechanical water pressure. Easy to run the plastic tube. I love knowing I have water pressure at all times.

Was almost thinking just to do the fuel pressure gauge in center of two bigger gauges but lower, really don’t know where i could put two after all but talked to Livorsi and can get my FP from them in 2 weeks what about doing two split below in middle of the two larger gauges

Well I’ve been going around and around with the idea and am not going to add any more to the dash as of yet. Bought a mechanical fuel pressure gauge to be able to check it and get all figured out.

ANyone happen to know what the fitting going into the gen3 cool fuel box is? By memory it looks like a 1/2” npt fitting but don’t want to pull it out till i have the replacement.

As when i ordered the roll over valves from Imco they sent me ones with the 1/2” barb, and Alexi had recommended me to do 1/2id fuel lines anyway that’s what I’m working on doing now.
Have everything ordered for on the Imco Superfuel Valve so just need that fitting then about 15-16’ of 1/2 fuel line, most likely doing Redhorse push loc fittings

If you have two fuel gauges, why not just have one for both tanks? When I switch my tanks, my one gauge will read for whatever tank is selected. Then use the other gauge for fuel pressure

I’ve had that conversation with a few, after having two fuel gauges i will never go back to just one. With having the IMCO superfuel valve as one tank gets a little lower than the other click to other tank, as next gets a little lower click..... of i ever build a new boat it too will have two fuel gauges for sure.
I am going to hold off on the fuel pressure gauge for now anyway after discussing with Bob at MWI I’m going to try the two fixes he’s given me and then go at it again. I do not believe it actually had anything to do with fuel after all.
