Our son in Colorado has a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. He currently has studded 285/70/17 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac.

He is looking to relocate to a warmer climate like CA or AZ. I would like to know what is a good tire for mostly on road driving with the possibility of off road from time to time.

Also is there any value for the stock set of wheel/tires and the set of snow tires to be taken off?

In the old days you could just have the studs removed. I'm a fan of the BFG K02s ... quiet ride.

Thanks for the replies. I have been checking and it looks like the studs can be removed from the tires. I think that we will give that a try before purchasing new tires. Has any taken studs out of tires?
