FYI, for those considering a 2019 Ram 2500 or 3500. I special ordered a 2500 approx. 4 weeks ago, was told I was one of the first to special order a 2019 Heavy Duty, and was just sent an update that the truck is in paint and will be in transit next week. There has been a lot of mystery around the 2019 HD platform and its release so I thought this post might be helpful.

I'm really excited about these trucks, I think RAM is at the top of the game right now. Did they say anything about the PowerWagon?

I ordered my truck at Earnhardts in Phoenix and recall they had 2 2019 PowerWagons due in.

New interior and air ride. That makes sense as why there are so many 2018 models sitting on the lots with 13K off sticker. I almost pulled the trigger but I love my 2011. Now I will wait.

The trade rags say it will be the first without any EGR but I've read nothing further if that is a fact.

Love my 2018 Laramie 3500 4x4 Mega Cab. Dodge does a great job with fit and finish.

I'm a dyed in the wool Ford guy but I've got to admit that over the last few years Dodge has really stepped up their game. The trucks look great and are getting outstanding reviews.

Love my 16, I heard the next generation Cummins was in the works, did the 19 get that or is that for 20. Is the look changing at all for 19 or was that 20 as well?

The 19 I ordered does have the new updated Cummins; composite graphite block, new cylinder head and valvetrain and new/larger variable turbo. This was a selling feature to me but honestly my 17 drivetrain did everything I needed it to. The real reason for me moving from my 17 to the 19 is the interior (full leather and big 12" screen), the adjustable rear air suspension and the adaptive cruise control

Just out of curiosity what is the cost of the new Rams, my Dad is in the market for a new diesel and the XLT Fords he’s looking at are 60k otd:eek: I know Rams have killer deals, when I bought my ram 4 years ago they had $7500 off. Are they doing any deals on the 2019 Cummins?

No incentives on the 19 and there wont be any this year. That said, I paid invoice and let the dealer keep all of the holdback which was $2,486. I bought a Limited mega cummins 4x4 with virtually every option and invoice was $77,602.

I would bet there will be incentives on the 19 truck, not immediately but before 19 is up.

You built a 2500/3500 or 1500? Reason I ask is to my knowledge you cant build a 2019 year 2500/3500 online yet, only at a dealer.

3500 Limited on the Dodge site. I think it was an 18.

Coo. That is so nice.

I had someone convinced that the 360 camera on their buddies raptor was a realtime satellite image that followed each truck with the 360 camera around. They only figured out I was fucking with them when they asked how it works in a parking garage.

I see.

Does the 19 Dodge have the 360 degree cameras? Auto steps?

It can. I ordered a Limited and optioned the level 1 equipment and towing technology group which includes the cameras, auto steps, adaptive cruise control and some other features.

2019 2500 HD comes with the Aisin trans?

Nope. But they have supposedly updated the 68RFE with improved electronics and shifting behavior. I have towed a ton of weight long distances with my 2017 2500 and the 68RFE transmission never gets above 172 degrees, even backside of the grapevine where I am WOT the whole way up. The shifting behavior sucks but at the end of the day it still works and has not been problematic.

I heard that about the 68RFE too!

I think I may buy a used Aisin Transmission and have it built to the hilt for the garage shelf for after the warranty runs out. I don't think I will get a new truck, but if I do I will ultimately buy another Cummins so it will always get used.

Anyone using any aftermarket tunes on their Cummins? I keep reading about the stealth brand and that it leaves no footprint.

Smarty tuner is the best tuner for Cummins. Specially made only for Cummins motors.

I’m leaning towards Double R Diesel. Only tunes Cummins engines and his 68RFE tune is supposed to be awesome. He uses the MM3 tuner.

I used EFI Live by Anarchy on my last 2007 6.7 cummins. It was incredible. Never one issue. On my 2018 I haven't touched it because I have the 125,000 warranty for 7 years. At the end of that will be 2025. I figure I'll go with whatever is the best thing going at that point. I had a smarty on my 2007. It was pretty lame compared to EFI live. The only thing I ended up using the smarty for was to correct tire size for the speedometer and another convenience feature of the truck which I forgot what it was.

will do.

I currently have a 2017 Mega Cummins and the new interior and rear air ride suspension on the 2019 is what got me to make the upgrade

The rear air ride was available in 2017 I have it on my 2500 mega.

The new ones are beautiful I really like the interior but I probably couldn’t afford one now the prices went way up.

Fly out to Sacramento this time tomorrow morning to pick up my 2018 2500 4x4 Tradesman with 6.4 Gas and 4:10 Gears.

Not a baller diesel but it is perfect for I want to do. 10k off MSRP is worth the flight and drive.

Where you driving back to?

I’m mechanical, but not a gear head, that said, what are the benefits of a tuner? Will it still pass smog (every 2 years) if tuned?
