So I am preparing to receive my 2019 RAM 2500 Cummins and thought I would reach out to all for advice.... I ordered the truck with air bag suspension and my research has shown that I cannot do a leveling kit because of the air bag self leveling feature so i have to do a 2.5 lift. In my research I have determined that Icon and Carli seem to be the leading kits. I am told the Carli is more geared towards off road and Icon for on road. I do not plan to offroad the truck, it is my daily driver and will launch the boat with it. I drive 40,000+ mile a year so I want the smoothest ride possible, I do a lot of driving on concrete freeways for example. I will be putting 17" or 18" wheels and 35's on it.

So, that said those that have experience what lift do you suggest for the plushest ride possible and why?

Carli or Thuren would be my choice. Give them a call and they can walk you through getting the plushest ride possible. I’m not sure if you can get Deavers with auto level, but that would help significantly.

Edit:2500, I think you have coils. No Deavers.

I'm looking into the same thing, (also rear air) I've been told the the Carli 2.5 with a 1" wedge block in the rear would be the best riding for this type of setup.

Here you go. You can go as mild or wild as you want with shocks. Also you can add a track bar as well.

Especially for a dodge, since thats where they got their start, go with Carli. I know the guys at CJC offroad (their largest cali dealer) if you need a referral.

No question it’s Carli or Thuren. If you’re not bombing across the desert I’d suggest Thuren’s King 2.0 IFP shocks or Carli’s Fox Communters.

FWIW I went Thuren.

Exactly. Thuren you can go with a 2 inch spring which will retain just a little rake. Looks perfect on 35's.

I had the Carli on my 2013 ram and really liked the ride on my 2017 f250 I also have the Carli leveling "Comuter"with front springs with fox 2.o's and it rides awesome.
A lot of people do like the Icon though and I don't have any input for the Thuren.
I also ditched the factory 20's and went to 17's with 35's and it made a huge difference.
Tire pressure is also a huge factor Im running 60psi front and 65psi rear and that seems to be a perfect combo yore results may vary ;)

Good point about PSI. I run 60 front and 45 rear, and 70 in rear when towing 5th wheel.

I know sage carli and helped with the final evaluation for their commuter kings and 2.0 Bilsteins.

2.0 Kings provide nowhere near the plush ride of 2.5 Kings.
Even for on-road.
3.0 Kings are even better on-road.

I’ve literally run them all with various valving setups.

And if you can convince Carli to build 2.5 Kings with their proprietary 5-port piston, you’ll have a great setup that sort of splits the difference between 2.5 and 3.0

I’d also suggest Deavers (if you have rear leafs) and/or their progressive coils for the best ride. You’ll squat under load, but your airbags make this a moot point.

Carli will tailor valving to you needs, just like Don Thuren.
You can’t go wrong with either company.

Leave it alone on the factory settings. Lift kit will get you $5,000 to $10,000 less when you sell it, and it will get worse ride, heavy tire wear, and lower power. Leave it alone.

I appreciate the input!

I don’t leave anything stock..... could care less about loss in value and things like tire wear.

2" leveling spacers, bilisteins, 35s with 17" rims.

Rides like a 3/4 ton truck from the mid 2000s lol

Carli, only way to go. I did a back country kit with a few upgrades on my 2016 2500 and it rides better than any truck I’ve lifted. Not cheap but worth every penny. I did add air bags at a later date to tow my toy hauler and it made the rear a bit harsher but still amazing ride.

Lift kit will...get worse ride, heavy tire wear...

True for a crappy lift, most of which are cheap. But there are expensive crappy lifts as well.

Not true for a quality lift...which unfortunately ain’t cheap.

Thuren springs with King shocks. Sway bar, track bar, and steering stabilizer. Have the setup on my 18. Has the same setup on my 07. Ride is night and day over stock.
