Strategy ?

Buy and hold low cost Vangaurd index funds and go to sleep. I know it is not exciting like a casino or day trading but it works long term.

Read The simple path to wealth by JL Collins or read his stock series from his blog

Never sell, Never......
just joking... I do my best to always take profits when I can...
Watched way to many investments/trades go from green to red...

I threw money on the craps table at close. I’ll ride it out if I have to.

How do you feel about CLNE? Personally I think this sector will boom when everyone realizes the grid can’t keep up with EV demands. Especially in the commercial sector.

RIP WSB. Too much exposure.

If it helps I can count on both hands the amount trash “dds” I’ve followed there in the last 2 years.

There have also been some home runs. Just comes down to actually doing good research.

@Xring01 has been giving incredible advice. With legitimate metrics and not “I’m feeling it bro”

@Xring01 kills it. I appreciate his insight.

I feel like we have a mixture of WSB and common sense, splashed with some gambling 😋 🍻 Good times.

Chip shortage is the next inflection point. Only so many chip foundries that everyone uses (TSMC) and they are at max capacity. Companies are making deals to trade their spot in line at the foundries for other things they find more important, strange bedfellow in the making.

Dudes,
My goal, it not to be the El Commandant of this thread.

It to educate like minded people who want to retire a bit more comfortable or leave more to their heirs.

I have never stated I am god. I only offer my opinion. The more preople who share there opinion, means we all have a better chance of success.

Some have pushed Speculated played wiithout identifying that aspect.

Spec is good because its educates newbies, as long as they dont go all in, an understand the risk of SPEC.

Yes I realize the vast majority of yall who follow me are not at my level. But truly understand, as much as I am sharing, I am a NOVICE...

The more I learn, the dumber I become.

Saying all this... share trade ideas... and why it makes sense...

SNDL to the moon, GME to the moon... . Yep thats great advice for a day trade that happened yesterday.
But how does that stupid advice help you going forward.

It’s all strategy. Your strategy is much different than my strategy. You play with a lot more Money than I am, which is going to give you much different opportunities. Right now this is the the game I’m playing to build my portfolio. I’d love to throw down a few thousand and be in and out of trades in 5 minutes for a profit all based on charts. I can’t right now. Right now I need to learn how to read charts and trends. I need to be able to see logic on the screen, but I need to also be able to “feel it”. Right now I’m having fun and learning. When this isn’t fun anymore I’ll stop playing. To me it’s just like you said, extra money. I have a full time job, but I like making extra money, and having fun. I bought in hard on the hype and luckily it only cost me five hundred. I started with 900 and now I’m at 3600. I can’t really afford to buy the big players and make money. I have to take some risks to try to get to your level.

Any idea how my cost basis for a stock can be significantly higher than any purchase order I put in?
Got a few surprises this morning when I opened my account.
Cost basis for NCLH is $24.26 highest buy order was $23.74

Cost basis for NMTC is $4.07 highest buy order was $3.30

All other buy one where in steps lower than these buy orders.

How in the hell does those average into a higher number?

Could it maybe include fees?

Limit order or market buy?

Just a straight purchase. Both stocks were dipping down so I put in 3 purchase orders each.
Each buy at a lower price. So the average price can’t be higher than the highest purchase.

Glad these are my more risky moves so I don’t have much in them. Just pisses me off.

But now I’m hesitant to buy anything In fear my cost basis will be fucked.

I’m going to sit on my hands today.

Yeah it does that on multiple orders of the same stock. It will correct itself.
I looked around. Turns out I was paying 6.95 in commission on the NMTC.
Not sure why.

NCLH don’t show commission

Sens is looking good cciv looking good. Looking like a very good start to my day. I’m still using Robin Hood because I love how easy it is. Checked on my SoFi account which is my long term and it’s green so that’s good.

Have you looked into CCIV? It is a SPAC. It is going up on rumors it will acquire Lucid Motors. You might want to hold onto it long term on the gamble that the acquisition goes though. It will easily double when it happens. If it falls through it will go back to $15 - $20.

I have been waiting for it to get to $20-$25 to jump on board, but the Lucid acquisition rumor is too well known. It won't go down.

Yup, supposedly they are talking today which is why it’s up 14 % I took the gamble knowing I could double my money or lose most of it.

Sold one of my penny turds today that I had since 2004 for a 99.5 percent loss. Lmao was just glad it got high enough I was able to cover the commission and not have to look at it in the account anymore. My other pennies had a good week for the most part.
