According to TFL no V8 just a supercharged 6 and a hybrid.

Should be a turbo 6 not a supercharged setup. Supposed to be the same engine that is in the LS500 and the new 300 series land cruiser that isn't coming to america.

not sure 400 hp is enough to compete with the big dogs

I'd say they are right in the running, especially if they can crank up some power figures with the coming hybrid version.

Chevy 5.3: 355
Chevy 6.2: 420
Ford 5.0: 400
Ford 3.5: 400
Ford 3.5 HO: 430
Ford Powerboost: 430
Ford 2.7: 325
Ram 5.7: 395

Agreed.

And let not forget torque:
442 lb.-ft.@ 1600-4800 rpm
…which is better than all NA competitors.

Could be…I pulled that spec from the Lexus LS500.

I’m sure they’re will be tuning differences [emoji106]

The torque curve for these turbo engines is legit. No NA engine is making that much torque just above idle speed.

It's 479 for the 300 series LC.

For sure. My wife got a Mercedes Metris with a turbo 4 banger. The low end torque is great given the powerplant and displacement. It get up and goes effortlessly right off the bottom end.

Guess that needed everyone to know it’s a TOYOTA since it looks like a GMC 🤦‍♂️ Ugly Grill

I just sold my 02 Toyota with 180,000 miles I bought 7 years ago with 70,000 miles on it for 8k. I paid 10k. Sold it in 20 min on Offer Up

I dig it. If I was in the market for a truck and 1/2 ton, it would be at the top of my list

8 more HP and 78 more LB.-FT of torque, decent but nothing spectacular. The hybrid option is intriguing. Using the Land Cruiser chassis is a cool touch. Overall nothing groundbreaking but that’s not Toyota’s style, it’ll most likely be very reliable.

It’s ugly, but what new truck isn’t? I’m sure it’s a nice rig. I’d guess a PRO with the hybrid and dealer markup is going to be pushing six figures given the current market.

Did anyone see what transmission it will have? Also, I’m surprised they didn’t change the name of the engine even though it’s a completely different motor.

I'm guessing TRD pro in the low 60s. Current gen TRD is only 49k.

Is there any value in any car review these days since there is nothing to sell?

Anybody know why the amber clearance lights in the grille ? Truck certainly doesn't appear to be that wide, or they're just copying the Raptor and T-Rex ?

Overall track width didn't change, but they added some flares that put them over width. Plus they think it looks cool.

Flares added maybe 1/4" by the looks of it 😂 Mirrors are well past that on both truck styles.

I think they just did it because so many people are slapping the marker lights on their Tacomas and 4Runners lol

I certainly think the interior appears to be nice looking. But I won't buy a truck with that narrow of an edge on the bottom cushion side bolsters. Lexus did the same thing which made getting in and out gracefully and pain free more difficult. Hence, why after 20 years of driving a Lexus my wife said adios.
I envision the same problem on the Raptor R, if they only come with the Recaro seats. I mentioned it to my neighbor who does the Ford desert R&D and he stated that several engineers shared the same sentiment. Fun seats for some aggressive offroading, but not comfortable for a long cruise. They recommended that Ford offer an option because not all buyers will want the Recaros --- Me included.

The first gen Tundra was awesome. I had a 2000 and it was one of the best trucks I ever owned. First one that Big Johns in Santa Clarita did with Total Chaos Uniball Arms and Kings. Lines on that truck still look good today.

I was probably the first tech in the country to tear a set of heads off of that engine….I’m very familiar with them. The ran like a raped ape for their time, but still looked like a pussy truck compared to the 2000-2092 GM.

….and the seats fucking suck.

Purple was a factory color….and there you have it.

Tundra = fugly

I am thinking about a 4x4 Tacoma to replace the Silverado. Only thing I tow is the pontoon to the boat ramp once in the spring and pull it in the fall. Ramp is 2 miles.

With the transmission bullshit I have been dealing with I am not too comfortable going with the F150 or Silverado.

Over 80 inches wide...

Looked everywhere and couldn't find any dimensional specs being provided for the new Tundra. If it's wider than 80", then the pictures are deceptive as it appears in those pictures to be no wider than then Non-Pro versions.

Have the RDP votes ever been counted on just which engine and transmission package you're suffering from ? I've read 6, 8, 10, but don't recall the final answer.
Bummer regardless and I haven't suffered a bad transmission, Ford or Chevy, since I blew up the auto in my 57' Ford, and had to back home @ 2AM, 5 miles in reverse
I think you're suffering an extreme lemon that just needs to get shredded. 😖

You dealing with 10 speed trans problems? Or 6 or 8 speed problems?
