Looking like that it must have a big v8 diesel in it with 2k of torque.

I like it. I hope there is still a v8 option. I’m not crossing my fingers, Toyota isn’t much for options.

wife has a 2017 4Runner TRD Pro. It’s a really nice and solid ride.

Not loving the monster grill like a lot of the lexus models have, I always think what if someone just slightly bumps into me or backs into me that is gonna cost a few K due to a small crack or break.

Did they put a diesel in it yet?

In April I got serious about buying another Tundra. Was told dealers can no longer order 2021's, and if I ordered a 2022, it wouldn't be delivered until the end of the first quarter of 2022. And there will be two engine options: turbo V-6, or hybrid. No more V8, and no diesel. And now I see it was apparently designed by committee...🤢

That sucks! I was hoping you said it had a Cummins in it!

Nissan has the smaller Cummins...and I’ve read it’s not great

Wonder if Toyota's figured out how to make it's 3.5L Twin Turbo V6 sound any better than my Raptor ??
Although now Ford's claiming the new Raptor has an optional exhaust system available that rumbles like a V8 --- this I can't wait to hear.

I don’t get the black fender flares Toyota and GM are putting on their trucks. They look lame unless you have a black truck.

Ha Ha , they just re-programmed the radio module to play Bad-Ass V8 sounds through the speakers as you drive

So tired of seeing Toyota’s with “raptor” clearance lights. To the point that if I bought a raptor I’d put a standard grill in it to delete the grill lights.
Really tired of light bars also. Can’t believe toyota is able to offer those from the factory? Bunch of idiots on mead have them in there boats now too.

Toyota used the word "Dominate" to their dealers.
I'd think that means the best payload, towing, and MPGs...
Guess we'll find out tomorrow.

Some more photos have leaved over the last month. They definitely have my attention and I am intrigued.

Looks like a Tacoma, inflated to 80psi.
Will these get pullout shelves, lazy susans, gas cans and pop-top tents installed right out the gate, or will that still be left to the aftermarket?

And for $4k extra……special Overland badging on seat backs and tailgate to let everyone know you've recently taken up camping with an inordinate amount of shit.

I went down that rabbit hole back when I was in college. Now? Any trail that would require more than a stock offroad package truck is too hard for me to be doing with my daily driver.

Someone lost a bet on this one......

15 years for the first update? I have to agree that it would be normal for Toyota to now only be 8 years behind the big three in most of the truck. Kind of hoping they realize a few things like the tail gate needs more than a 250lb capacity. Then again, for their target market at the mall, that is more than enough.

Going to be an interesting time when the MFR's are still trying to pump out current year trucks due to the chip issue and hit a marketing timeline for new truck releases. Nissan already has the new Frontier in production, but hasn't released pricing. Most Toyota dealers have no Tundra's or Tacoma's on their lots right now.

I didn’t know they had an upgrade from the 22r😂
Nice job👍

I had an ‘86 with the 22RET turbo engine…I bought and rebuilt it in about 2006. Not a race car, but a huge improvement over the N/A deal…especially at altitude. Sadly, a poorly made aftermarket air filter failed and dusted my new turbo and wiped out the rings and cylinder walls at about 6000 miles on my fresh engine…couldn’t get parts to redo it again (I think I found the last new turbo on the planet the first time)….so it got a 3.4L swap and sold shortly thereafter.

Since we are showing off old Celica's, here is my grandpas. He is the original owner, I might be wrong but I believe he picked it up from long beach docks himself. Awesome that dealers let people do that back in the day.

Nope, he's probably going to be buried in that thing.
Well, I had to ask. Especially since I’m on the lookout for another ride. That’s the same car I drove in high school.

Last time I was looking these old celicas weren't too expensive. Just hard to find a clean one (like his).

He also daily drove a MK3 Supra until it got totaled in a wreck in 2014. He is a toyota man through and through.

I have a 31 year old Toyota with a Bahama Shell and it still looks good. Detail inside and out including the motor and original interior.

Just shy of 150,000 miles and starts every time.
