Considering a new build. 225 fourstoke merc. Is the DTS worth nearly 4K more? I’m leaning not. Also, black cowl vs cold fusion white, is the white cowl worth 1k more? Any difference on fighting water spots, etc? Black 225 vs white 225 with DTS is nearly 5k. If I go non- DTS, will I have issues if I want to upgrade to a 300 down the road in a few years? Won’t be doing a digital dash.

If you are repowering just do the non DTS, save or spend the money elsewhere.

Isn’t the 225 a V6? The new V8’s start at 250hp. 250 V8 ProXS non-DTS would be my choice, but I’m not sure what your build is.

DTS failed me last winter in 18 degree temps on the Snake River up here in Whitaho.....Luckily, when it failed, it was in forward and not neutral, or reverse. After 3 hours of idling back, I finally got warm again in the truck. Brrrrrrr factor. So far so good on the warranty replacement unit.
