This is going to be fun.

With the stock 700 #6 boat closing in on 110 we're eager to see this one.

Will go WAY past 120mph, badass

What’s your guesstimate on top speed UD?

The DCB F26 with twin 400’s ran dang near 130 MPH and bullhead bully’s 28ss has ran 130+ MPH.

I’d be willing to guess with the setup correct it should run 125+

That’s my speculation and not a guarantee. I don’t wanna promise a speed on a first time setup

Subscribed. Gonna be fun to see the final product. Not just top speed, but overall planing and handling.

Top and bottom are bonded. Seat back, hatches, are shot and striped

The boat was designed for inboards and has a separate outboard mold but the transom needs to be cut and the well fitted.

Bout time to break a 400 out of the crate and start lining things up...

Outboard well. Every 26 Redline outboard build will have a well to make it possible to trim the engines up. It also doubles as a nice platform to stand on for a small swim step plus the billet step between the engines.

The outboard boat is quite tricky to build.

Extremely laborious even in white which this one isnt.

Lavey Craft finishes all the fiberglass areas with a SuperClear, even areas that get covered up.

IMG_0160.jpg
IMG_0161.jpg

"Hybrid" finished rear compartment. We call it hybrid finish because it still retains the trademark Lavey Craft style of clear coat visible lamination but we also incorporate the finished gel coat hidden style of the RPM. The rear area will have fiberglass storage tubs and show very minimal wires and hoses etc...

IMG_0214.jpg

Rear outboard well that allows you to actually be able to trim the engines up unlike some other boats, and it also gives a decent swim step area that gets Seadek.

Dashes and cockpit consoles are in and ready to finish. Customer needs to lock in what all he wants.
We're also waiting for the dash Garmin electronics to arrive, plus font/rear cameras.

Under deck carpet and ultra touch headliner are both on the tan shade of the spectrum to accent the tan/creme color of the boat. Cockpit interior is looking like it will be a light tan color similar to the under deck headliner.

I don't know what it is about Lavey gel coat but even if you don't know what the boat is if the gel coat colors pop it's guaranteed to be a Lavey boat.

Now that all final options and details are finally sorted out, we have progress!
We are hoping to water test next week.

Engines are hung, mounted on STR brackets which are amazing quality.
Rear storage area finished off extremely clean as per Lavey/RPM standards showing next to nothing for the rigging & wires etc, minus the bilge pumps mounted far aft for best pumping placement and the fuel filters that can barely be seen on the outsides for ease of service.
This rear area will be getting two large fiberglass tubs for storage dividers/bins.

Windshield mocked up and ready for final mounting.

Dash is complete (need to mount the steering wheel) with Garmin screen and Livorsi gauges.

Interior colors came out great and compliments the Ivory color base coat, red design, and gray pin stripes of the boat very well.

Seadek has gone down which perfectly matches the tan interior.

Here are a few pictures showing the functionality of the outboard well we add on this boat. This feature allows full use of all trim ranges and will allow you to go full up trim without rubbing the boat at all. The outboards trim up VERY HIGH! Trimming up this high has a few advantages with the two most common ones being, easy in water or at dock prop check/changes, and trimming the engines all the way out of the water so when parked overnight or long periods of time they will not be sitting in the water.
The outboard well also gains back a nice swim platform!

I wasn't so sure about the ivory gel, but seeing it with the interior detail really sold me. Pretty bold set of choices but it looks great when you see it all coming together. Nicely done!

Very nice build.

This thing is going to run if balanced properly.

I’m predicting this thing will pull 36 pitch Cleavers.

Do you have a final weight yet?

I couldn’t agree more. A lot of people have loved the color and just as many people don’t like it. At first I was on the side of not liking the color and not sure about the interior color. But now that we have the boat close to finished product and most of the interior is in with almost all parts installed, I think it looks great and exceeds my initial view of color choice.

Either way, my personal taste of colors and such doesn’t matter because I’m happy if the customer is happy. And he is very happy!

I agree with the prop choice. We’re working on getting a variety for initial testing.

Final weight has not been checked yet because the boat is not at final finished stage yet. Semi-Bare hull weight which includes complete fiberglass hull all bulkheads, rear hatch, windshield, fuel tanks, passenger/driver dashes, rear compartment panels, underdeck carpet and headliner was in the low to mid 2000lbs range. I’d have to look through my notes at work to find the exact weight that was but I remember it was below 2500lbs thanks to our carbon/kevlar lamination, vacuum bag core, and coosa bulkheads.

That’s impressive.

I’m guessing 4500-4800 lbs complete.

She’ll run...looking forward to seeing you finish setup on this.

Couple more pics to add of the interior.
All the boat needs is pop up cleats, pin cleats, glove box lids, install mirror panel under rear hatch, and then final mounting of the windshield. Supply stock is a bit delayed, thanks COVID... Shooting for for next week completion.

Highly unusual color choices for sure..... its growing on me.... new owner took a lot of risks.... kinda reminds me of a vintage throwback color scheme. And you know what they say about fashion, if you live long enough it all comes full circle. This is a one off.

First test run went GREAT and we couldn't be happier with how the boat turned out!
Testing conditions at Elsinore were not very good with 102 degree weather and a whole lot of seadoos and jet skis.
We had 75 gallons of fuel in the boat and 4 people. With the Mercury CNC 33 pitch props the boat jumps on plane very quickly with minimal bow rise, acceleration was very strong, boat leaned in through all its turns, no porpoise that I felt, bow carried nice and perfect. After I gave it a couple laps around the lake to get the feel for it and its handling characteristics, I ran it up.
First speed run I got it to 105mph and backed down due to traffic, but it got there very quickly and effortlessly! Next speed run it ran 112mph @ 6500rpm and again, got there very quickly. Based on those slip numbers and if we ran it all the way to 7000rpm it'll run 120mph with those props. Later in the afternoon it got really windy and surprisingly Elsinore got pretty rough. Running through the common 2' lake chop the boat ran through it at 100-105mph extremely comfortable!
Overall we are very pleased with everything and right off the trailer it ran amazing! We should be doing more testing this week and next week with hopefully better conditions.
