What does everyone think about the 260 hull. I know eliminator builds a good boat. I have not heard much about the hull and its performance?

What year, which one?

My buddy has a '09 26 XP. It runs and handles good. No chine walk. Solid boat. :thumbsup

when he is running next to me on the lake with 8 people I wonder why I am paying 3x the insurance he is. Fawker. :D

I had a 260 Eagle and with a 496HO I got it up to a speed of 76.5 mph on GPS. It would tend to chine walk a little at higher speeds. If you plan on going any faster than that I would get some trim tabs for it.

Great boat for little lakes and rivers but I would keep it out of the rough stuff. That's all I'm going to say about that.

I have a 2001 Eagle 250 with an HP 500. Boat and motor are a good package, its fun to drive even on some of the bigger stuff. I just bury the trim tabs. Boat handles good even at speed, doesn't chine walk if you use the tabs correctly.

Got to be about the fastest 26 I have ever seen with a bone stock HO. Dont even think a 25 bullett goes that fast with a 502

It must be. Because that is faster than mine and he has never been around me.

Yep, Bone stock with a very tweaked 26p Bravo 4-blade...and in hindsight I'm guessing it was a very light layup.

Well to my knowledge it is the 260 had a fiberglass floor liner in it and the 250 didn't.

You should be seeing mid to high 70's at least. I drove my buddies '07 25 Daytona with a 496HO and it did 78 mph.

Imho the Eagle line is still one of the fastest and best looking V-bottom lines out there. The 250 and 260 were both Powerboat sportboat of the year. The 236, 250, and 280 have about the same dash design, with the 260 being a little different, all have fiberglass innerliners now. In 1995 a 250 Eagle with a 502 was tested at 78.9 mph in Powerboat Mag. They also handle well with no surprises.

If you're looking at this boat I'd throw the 25' Nordic Rage into the mix. It's one of the most efficient hulls out there for the 496 HO. I've heard the Rage is a bit faster given the same power. I might be biased!?

Since I used to sell them both I might agree its a lil faster but the seating room is much more spacious in the Eliminator. And I might be biased come on now would you wanna own a boat the godfather of west coast boats built or a Nordic?

The 250 weighs about 3800 lbs, the 260 about 4100 and the Nordic 25 about 3700 lbs. Those are good numbers for that size and weight. Very efficient.

I made that choice and I went Nordic because I like the lines better. They're both very good boats.

Not saying it can't happen, it just hasn't to me. ;). Lol

My buddy has the same boat. We are dead even.

The eagle is a nice boat, but you need to ignore the size claims.

The numbers on the 26 eagle dont work out.

At 26.4 feet "overall" you take the 2 foot swimstep out of the equation and its a 24 foot boat.

It also has a 50 gallon tank which is pretty small for this size of a boat.

There are 24 foot boats out there with 80 gallon tanks, and most of the 21's come with 50's.

Fine for the river or maybe Havasu, - but a Laughlin run, Mead or god forbid Powell or catalina its just not enough you are always sweating the needle and filling up on the water which blows.

3rd party recorded tests dont show the speed others are claiming either.

I actually like the boat- but there are offerings out there that offer more for the dollar/size.

X3. I had to actually carry a 5 gallon tank of gas once when I did a poker run because I was afraid I couldn't make it between gas stops.

My boat was a 70 mph boat all day long regardless of the fuel or people I had on it. Earlier when I said the 496HO was bone stock I forgot that I had taken the turbulators(sp?) out of the exhaust, but that was it.
