The owner of this build is no other than Mike Fountain of Fountain Racing Engines (FRE) https://www.facebook.com/fountainraceengines/ out of Sarasota, Fl. featuring one of his unique V8 engines that's far above any typical high performance boat engine. This will be an extremely one of a kind build.

The 27 foot catamaran will be built out of Carbon/Kevlar with Coosa polyurethane stringers, bulkheads, and floors. Will feature honeycomb carbon inlays on the deck and sides of the hull. The interior will have an east coast flair with full composite construction.

Ok, so because I'm a car painter I have to ask. When you guys cap these hulls front and rear and you respray the white gel and other colors associated with it, I assume you spray clear gel over top of everything you just did. Are you just blending the clear gel over the original gel and then rub it out to make it look unrepaired?? Just curious..

This checks all the boxes for me. What is the weight of a standard layup hull? Guess we will find out what this will tally.

In the case of white, no.
Not usually clear. It shines just fine without it.
The real issue is our clears are not a true clear like you’d be used to.
Over White it will give a bit of a yellow or brownish tint.

There’s absolutely clear over the carbon.

Thanks Gelcoater. Makes perfect sense...

The carbon being layed into the mold looks a bit blue and out of the mold it has a little blue shade to it. Did you guys use a special type of resin for the carbon inlay or does that carbon have a little bit of a blue shading to it?

Great looking boat but I'm pretty sure that DCB 28 with the 1350/1550 will have something to say about it.

Maybe. But this one will have the LS small block if it's that motor. Substantially less weight.

And it has substantially less HP.
Don't know how much HP that engine they are putting in will have. I was going off the only hp rating I saw on their page. I wouldn't be surprised if the engine that goes in is over that by a good margin.

Wow. Looks great. Simple scheme with tons of detail. That thing is going to scream with all the weight savings of the carbon kevlar and aluminum small block.
