We reluctantly sold our Hallett 260 deck boat last summer and decided to go with a new build from Shockwave. This is a recap of our build. Gotta say, the crew at Shockwave did a great job of building a beautiful boat and we are excited to get this thing on the water this season.

Once the hull was half caped and cut/buffed, she moved over to start the rigging.

We decided on the 600sci. Wife likes the aggressive idle of the 565 but I managed to talk her into the 600. Likely going to receive the stage 3 whipple once I get some hours on it.

Same here. I always wonder though in 10 or 15 years will they still look good.
We originally had plans on blues/greys but we see so many blues and reds on the water. Once we decided on green, I see a ton of other green boats as well... Hard to be original for sure. I hope the green holds up better than the pinks and teals of the 90's. My last boat was a 1994 Hallett deck that people always asked me if it was new. Gel colors were timeless on that boat.

Boat got rigged up and the interior started coming together. This is when we really started to be excited about getting it finished

I brought in a pile of Kicker components for the build. Can never be the loudest, but have to have something that sounds good!

Funny thing is while visiting 6 builders each one had green boats. Some even had several greens in production. Doesn’t really matter if it is what you want. I am trying to get the boat and power plant that I want and the color that the wife wants. Keep the pics coming on the build. 👍

I was checking in once or twice a week at this point. Things progressed rapidly. Here is a big photo dump of the progress.

The throttle controls came in and the color was way off. Had to swap that out and just decided to use polished controls instead.

Finally ready to roll out for our first trip

I installed the Eddie Marine drive shower and unfortunately, the cap will hit the bottom of the swim step so until I figure out how to adjust the trim limit, I'm going to have to make sure I don't trim up too high.

Congrats on the gorgeous boat! We are a little biased towards the green as well and your lines and colors shouldn't go out of style! Enjoy your new float!

Figured I would post an update since we've had her for just over one year. 50 hours on the clock now.
We are very happy with the boat. She's not the fastest 28' deck by any stretch, but she rides solid and comfortable. We went back and forth naming her, but in the end, my wife couldn't let go of the name we had for our last boat.... So, "She Loves the Deck II" is officially her name now. Dave did a great job with the lettering. I had him pin the CF numbers while he was at it. Gave the numbers some depth, rather than looking like stickers.
