Love the flat deck and those tunnel mods should really fly. ;)

Please let us know what props end up working the best with the gear ratio & size of the 300R lowers. Are you going to weigh it when rigged ? Where do you boat? I'd LOVE to checkout this beast someday. Thank you for doing something different.

Nice cut down skater. Really curious to see this thing when it's finished. How many inches did they cut it down?

Which lower unit did you get for the 300R? Does Skater weigh all their builds when done?

Congrats, excited to see this come together, do you also have a schiada build underway? If my memory is right, that is. If so, any updates on that as well?

The Schiada is getting a 300R. The motor is supposed to be here next week. Waiting on the trailer. I'll start a new thread when I get the boat in my hands.

That one is Todd Fountian's boat. It is a flat deck but is not widened.

Nice build. Curious, with the 19" width addition are you going to have to put it on a tilt?

Congratulations.

I'll answer my own question...i think.

I just looked at Skater's site. Even with your additional 19", I think you're still legal for flat towing?

Bitchen boat, I'm envious as hell.

Either way it still is up to the owner on trailer. When Ron built the 412, a 40 widened 12” which I believe put that boat at 11-10 wide... he still just put it on a flat trailer.

A 40SS is 11'6" wide. Not sure about regulations to tow stuff around that wide but seems awfully wide.

Something else I find interesting, the Skater site only mentions outboards on the 28. Seems plenty big for stern drives. Perhaps it's too flat at the rear?

Anything over 102" is considered an "oversize" load. My 36' Eliminator "technically" need a permit, 106".
When we raced offshore in early 2000's, we towed a 46' Skater from Calif to Florida flat. When we got stopped, all the cops asked for were some tee shirts. Those days are long gone.
A friend got pulled over on I-40 (40' Skater Classic) going to the Lake Powell Challenge. Gave him a ticket, they let him go to the next exit, then had to sit there until he got a permit online. He said the cops were out in full force all the way to the lake.
I think towing flat around Havasu is pretty safe. I got a really good deal on the trailer so I have nothing to worry about.

Going into paint soon. Working with Steve (the painter) at Skater. His renderings are absolutely amazing.
I'm not it too much of a hurry. Waiting on the motors, all Mercury will say is delivery will be sometime in 2019.
