So this is what I was trying to get out of....spent 4 days light to dark working on this house....inside and out...one thing I hated about this house is I wasn't there enough to keep an eye on the build....so things happened... ons of which... the bar height split counter in the kitchen..who does that anymore... we hated it... so the remodel started..had to pull the granite and cut the pony wall down ..and of course move 3 power outlets...kind of a bitch to do with out pulling all the drywall... the lucky part was the granite guy has another slab that matches.... but still no top for 3 weeks...so now the island will be 102'' by 42'' flat , with four counter height bar stools...

made some more lamps out of hobby lobby cans for the master bedroom, pretty hard to find the right look you are after in the modern farm house look...so making your own is one option...Wife likes it so it a win for me...we bought the barn door furniture from showplace in havasu...we ordered some stuff from ashleys...what a joke..when we bought they said 2 weeks... that turned to 3 weeks ral quick,.. then when I called about it... the girl said." we are not responsible for what the saleman tells you, you'll be lucky to get your stuff in 2 months. it all back ordered...so I got my money back.. drove down to show place and they delivered that same day...

weather was just about perfect for yard work... so it was the Green acre life for me...got the slab poured coming out of the rear garage door... leveled the yard and removed all the rocks...holy crap , havasu dirt is moat all rocks..probley hauled out 50 wheel barrows full..I raised the lot before building to where my yard is about the height is about level with all the neighbors roof tops,...but one...so that's why I went with a 3' high wall to save the lake view when sitting on the porch....pretty nice lake view and view of cupcake mountain...night lights and sunsets are awesome from the back yard

On the east side of the yard,... I'm raising the lot another 2'... a 16' x 18' area...that will be a sit down view area..and jacuzzi ...gonna go with a propane fire pit so I don't have to deal with fire wood...Jeff from masonery and more has been great in getting the walls and concrete done... it's one of those no "PLAN" home owner jobs, so I know it's a pain in the ass... but... I gotta keep looking at it to get it how we want... so lot of changes..

Perfect!!! One thing that I just don’t like. It is great to have a large island. The option of how it is used is endless.

thanks for posting the pic.....the granite should be in shortly,... I guess it never ends .. not even moved in and doing 10k remodel...it was my fault as I I was there when they frame it and was there when the pony wall was drywalled and didn't notice how high it was... and I could of stopped it before the granite went in....lucky the guy had another slab left that matched what was installed...haven't figured out if I want bar stools with back or not yet.. might just wait till the granite is in to decide...

the idea with design was water and power smart...pools are a huge waist of drinking water.....there gonna come a day when people are gonna wake up to find they should have not waisted drinking water to have a water feature in their back yard..that and lawns....as it is now .. all lighting is solar, … yard is irrigation free... spa is covered so not much in evap going on..so zero costs to landscaping maintenance. .I did all the iron work myself from lowes panels and gates about $500 for everything. .modified yard lights to the fence poles

the view is great, relaxing drinking a beer looking across the lighted spa is pretty cool..I got a couple storage box's that all the furniture cushions go in, so a couple minutes and they are stored out of the weather..water smart and low maintenance …

same with the house build...north south exposure so no sun load on any windows, rv garage shades the house in the afternoons..and neighbor house shade in the mornings.. 50-$60 power bills so far..same with sewer/water..
