I've started to notice my gear case had some lube dripping from the top down off the skeg only when it's raised up. If I have it sitting level it doesn't leak. So I've been changing it every other trip out this year. And I'm starting to notice the dreaded water intrusion issues these cases are know for. Where's the best place in either so cal or havasu to have fixed? Thanks

It time to do a couple updates on the sportmaster gearcase,

They make a vertical shaft and shifter shaft seal w/ vent kit
The new kit has extra sealing power it doubles the number of seals
and adds a expansion bottle in the engine cowl area and a small line connects them

Lakeland Marine in Havasu sells them.

I would also replace the prop shaft bearing carrier seals and o-ring.
Complete the job with a pressure and vacuum test.
Replace the water pump and done

A side note on the vent kit we add a .050 hole in the top, so the gear case can not produce pressure or vacuum under hard running
