Alright guys. Were finishing up the bottom plug so I thought id get this thread started.
ill post photos in order from the beginning.
We took the 30' Daytona bottom and widened 3" in the tunnel and around 2" on the outsides of the sponsons to get us a 118" overall beam.
The I/O version will measure 32'8" with bustle
The OB version with have a low profile deck and sloped transom
This first build will be getting twin tcm 825EFI's with Imco SCX4 drives with cleavers.
This boat will be for Bob Hadd.

Crazy craftmanship here but I have to ask, what was the end game reason for taking this out to 118" beam, more interior space, better performance aero?

it will be better overall. More air underneath, more cockpit room. Same running surface as the 30 Daytona. will be very fast!

Center Pod question since you have a great pic of plug upside down. What goes into determining the dimensions of center pod? Width, depth, set back from nose of boat? Do these factors determine how well it will lean into turns and so on? Thanks for any input.

went with a mix of red and black so our gelcoaters can see when they spray blacks or reds

I’m really looking forward to this.
(Thumbs up thingy here..@RiverDave)
Shooting black or even charcoal pins against black molds is a bitch.
Likewise, shooting red or darker orange pins against orange tooling is a bitch.
Green tooling gel is an option, but green is sorta popular right now.

Chances are, no one’s ordering a brown boat anytime soon.
Anyone be can shoot against these molds with a consistent blend.
Some of the molds are red deck and black bottom for tooling gel. Try getting a blend consistent shooting against a different backdrop...on a different day...
This is going to be rad!

Thank you for sharing all the awesome work that goes into each one of these builds. Especially the plug and mold process. Very cool to see you guys do it.

The 28' Speedster is the "inspiration" for the 30' Speedster. We will be cutting up this deck to start and creating a masterpiece deck for the 30'. I cant wait to see Don. Jake, and Craig's vision play out. We will be offering a Bustle for this model.

To widen that deck I would be clueless. To lengthen it, I would guess you would push the firewall back for more cabin space?

Will you guys be keeping the side cutouts in the engine compartment or can you fill them in?

I'd like to guess that the 28 deck plug will be stretched this way :)

cut down the middle, then stretch

cut just in front of the receiver, then stretch

just playin' here...:)
