Decided to leave early hearing reports of up to 4 hour delays on 10/15&40.

Unsure why loosing 50% of lanes causes the difficulty that it does. 40 westbound was stop and go from Goeffs road to the construction zone...guessing 10 miles of stop and go, added about 40 minutes to get thru there.

Havasu and Mohave commuters have been warned...be patient...it ain't pretty.

We left at 9am this morning, taking rice road back to Orange County and hit zero traffic.

Colorado river southbound was wide open, a bit of traffic on the north side.[emoji117]

We are moving again. It is maddening that dropping to one lane is so hard for people to grasp on the road.

If leaving out of Laughlin on a big holiday weekend isn't it easier to take 163 to the 95 to Searchlight then go west on the 164 to the 15. If you run the mileage it's not that much further than going on the 40 to the 15 but at least your moving unlike the 40 parking lot... I've gone this way plenty of times and actually like the drive and change of scenery.

For all you deer hunters out there the top of highway 164 is loaded with deer...

Just took a cab from Laughlin to Bullhead. Little bit of slowing up the grade, otherwise all good. [emoji108]

We left Havasu just before 4pm. The 40 was a mess. Google maps showed an additional 1 hour 20 minutes to get home. I sat in in for about 30mins and only went a couple miles. Ended up making a u turn through the center divider and exiting Goffs. I drove the old route 66 even though the cell phone (and the barriers on the road) said it was closed. There were a couple bridges that must have been damaged in a storm so I had to drive off the road to go around. Not too bad and you can tell many others have done the same. Jumped back on the 40 in Ludlow. Saved me an hour getting home.

crap
i got off @ Mountain springs to avoid the back up and there was a sheriff at the barricades
wouldnt give me a straight answer on how much of it was closed but said there was a CHP at the other end of the closure
when we were gong past goffs saw a lot of cars on the road so did the U turn thing and there were barricades there too you cant see from the freeway so i got back on the mess cause i didnt want a ticket
1hour 55 minutes sucked!

Mountain springs has been closed for 2 years now. Kelbaker is the only exit which will get you over to the 62

We left Havasu at 4:15 through Parker. Hit a little traffic at the 10 at Dillon. We got home 9:30 maybe 30 minutes longer then normal. My friends left my house in Havasu at 12:30. They went the 40/15 and didn't get home until 8:30. I am sure glad my wife is all over the traffic before and during our drive.
