You joke, but I recently demo’d my parents bathroom, this is a early 60’s build in Corona. You should see the lumber I pulled out! This was real 2x4’s, not a single knot anywhere, looking at the end grain it was some old ass shit, reddish hue, but I don’t think it was redwood? Beautiful lumber

Either way, I can almost say that’s not all that far off

It probably measured a hell of a lot closer to true 2” x 4” than what we get today…

That’s what I was trying to get across, like I grabbed it and was all confused, beyond that, shit was heavy and dense.

Wood ain't what it used to be. Weird, seeing the Pasty sticks being used nowadays to Frame houses. Old Man Mac said, after WW2, the lumber to supply the building boom in greater LA was Logs floated down the West Coast, trucked out to the Tracts, and Sawmills proccessed the lumber on site.

Is this the normal “end of season” sell off or a little more? Quite a few haulers and toys popping up over the last few weeks.

Not at the prices people are asking for used stuff that they probably figured out they can’t afford the maintenance on.
My coworker bought a trailer during the Vid timeout from work. Think he’s paying $400 a month for storage. Can’t imagine he’ll keep it long. Not sure what his payment is but the monthly has got to be painful.
