getting close here, Bed Painted and on, tailgate getting painted, bed wood sealed; use a whole gallon of varathane:eek the stance is looking perfect, should have the bed complete this weekend

whew...8pm Sunday but made it by the end of the weekend. you would think installing the bed wood would be easy..NOPE!!!

Karl, I just found this thread today. Outstanding job ya did. Very, very nice. I hate the color but love the truck. I had a 50 just like it when I was in High School. Brings back some good memories. Again, very nice:thumbup:

1st test drive went well, at 5pm 112* out and a/c on it held at 195* city and returned to the 180* thermostat on the highway, handles good, stops in a real hurry but what made me real happy is the 350 trans I built works perfect (thank you God) :), it's slow off the line with tall gears but I was really surprised how hard it pulled once it got rolling (across a intersection) it appears to like that cam. A/C. kicks some arse and will put the Perk in any nipple ;), all in all not bad for out of the box first test, got a bit of tuning/carb adjusting to do and a couple of tweaks here and there, but all in all the safe and easy to drive plan seems to have come together:thumbup:
