If you are into fishing that would cover it.

Bitchen boat, but I definitely wouldn't drop that kindo dough into a Center Console. I'd rather have a sportfish with 2 diesels

Ahhhh yes, spoken as an experienced boater of the more northern waters of the Eastern Pacific 🤣 I froze fishing a Bisbee Tournament in Cabo on a CC, sopping wet with the wind howling and catching every wave in the face --- no thanks, never again. It's really strange when it's in the 80's are your teeth are chattering 🥶

I've grown up fishin on Center Consoles. They're fun boats, but you're always in the weather.

Fishing all day when it is hot or cold, its nice to walk in to a cabin and cruise to the next bite.

My best friend and old fishing buddy Capt Mike for many years, commercially fished a surf-launched Dory Boat out of Pacific City Oregon.
Then in the early 80's he relocated to So Cal, to open up an Irvine branch of his father's huge LA Based painting contracting business.

Of course he brought his Dory, "Strider" with him. So for many years Mike and I fished this flat bottomed CC skiff, winter and summer. Wintering on the back side of Catalina was a real camping trip, two of us huddled in sleeping bags freezing our asses of, shitting in a bucket, and fishing off the stern of the Squid boats at night. We'd always ask for permission to avoid being shot at. The weekend treat was trolling around the end to Avalon and grabbing a Bison Burger to bolster our spirits for the oft rough, cold and wet ride back to Dana, where we'd launched.
Eventually ole Mike couldn't take So Cal living, and returned to Oregon where now in his mid 70's, he's still hauling in full loads of Albies and Salmon, but far more comfy on his steel hulled 45' Trawler "Sea Rose".

Here's a stock photo of what I believe might be his old "Strider" Dory boat, certainly the color, Volvo stern drive and rigging is similar. The fire claimed all the pics of his boat I had.

Sold our Sports Fisher in 95', but if we return to the sea, wife's sign-off mandates include a nice salon and master stateroom, not just a V-Berth this round. 😁

Here's what he's fishing today, he goes out often by himself for several days, or until the freezers are full.

Great write up!

I had a couple little aluminum boats that I used to fish Santa Monica Bay and Long Beach with. Then I picked up this 1960's morphed cabin that made a couple trips out to Catalina. This is a picture coming back from the launch ramp after a weekend in Catalina. The Bow Strap broke and the boat was so fricken close of falling off the trailer. Made me realize to ALWAYS use a safety chain on the bow eye when towing. Sold her after that trip. Slept on this a couple times with a sleeping bag and bottle of Whiskey.

Then picked up my Parker in 2016 that I have completely gone through. Made the half Tuna tower on top. Made brackets and mounted the ice chest. All new electronics by WOT Marine. She used to have a Yamaha F225 with 2600+ hours. I sold that and bought a 2018 Yamaha F300 with only 125 hours on it. I have the shit bucket that I don't mind using. Wife complains about the shit bucket, but they always find something to complain about ;).

I just had her out this past weekend buggin in Catalina. Couple Pictures I thought I'd share of the trip and surf n turf. My lobster wife did a pretty damn good job using the plastic gaff to grab the buoys and hand me the line to muscle in on the lobster puller dealio. I need to get some video on a GoPro one of these days.

Also, this is in the Port of LA. I think there are a few on here that might have an idea. Anyone want to take a guess as to where I was at?

1.4 mil, base price. How many gal/hr do those 600's burn per OB?

Ps; found it,
The Formula 500 SSC was the biggest boat I tested. With quad 600s, the 47,000-pound vessel accelerated to 26 knots in less than 13 seconds and topped out at nearly 60 knots. The Tiara 48 LS, a 32,000-pound hull with triple 600s, hit 17 knots in 5 seconds and had a top end of 52 knots. The Tiara’s fuel burnat wide open was 150 gph. I'm guessing, 50+ size vessel with quads, would burn plus 200 gal/hr

Saltwater Fisherman tested that boat with 4 Yamaha 425's 28,000 Lbs with engines dry. 500 gals fuel ( 900 gal tanks) @ 5,000 rpm 50 mph cruise, 97.1 GPH @ .52 MPG.

I'm sure the 600's weigh more than the Yamahas.

Nice Review of the boat.

That Parker is absolutely perfect for you guys, and I'd say your lady is a real sport. Takes me back to all the various boats my wife and I owned and boated the pacific in.
I never did try pulling bugs, I pulled a few Dungeness off Oregon from the partially submerged deck of a Cedar Planked 1932 Lobster boat. Strangest boat I was ever on, had it not been for the high pointy bow or wheelhouse, you'd have sworn it was either sinking or a submarine.

Have fun, way cool 👍👍👍

Center consuls are great fishing platforms but I have graduated up to wanting some protection from the heat and cold. Here is where I landed, 32 Express with twin OBs. I recently just completed a 600 mile trip on her leaving out of Islamarada, cruising and fishing my way through the Bahamas (Chub, Staniel, Exuma, Cat, Spanish Wells) finishing up in the Abacos leaving the boat on Elbow.
