Looks like the weather tax is gonna get a little more expensive. Considering 1% pay 40% of the taxes it could get really interesting.

Democrats just can't do math. That's over 2 years of every penny the state collects in taxes.

I think they will be selling a lot of Escalades if this b******* goes through.

Correct me if I’m wrong…and probably am…but I don’t believe CA had slaves of African descent. I believe it was mostly indigenous people if I remember way back from my history classes. Doesn’t seem like the indigenous people are leading this charge…right?

Oddly, most of the actual "slaves" in California of foreign decent were Chinese...and now China has done a fine job of collecting "reparations" on their own. Hell, have a slave or two of their own in higher offices now.

As said by someone else it’s about housing discrimination and a few other things.. not slavery.

That said this is a panel that recommends to the state.. the state doesn’t have to follow the recommendations.. the fact that these idiots are being funded by tax payer money should enrage you enough though..

What they are proposing is taxation without representation by definition. If somehow it does pass it would be time to move or truly revolt against those that would have you pay it.

If I recall correctly, this "panel" is made up of 8 or 9 people, all of whom are black with the exception of one who is Asian.

Big surprise they are coming up with these recommendations.

The time to revolt was when the state denied people’s right to earn a living and labeled them non essential.

It’s a good thing I’m not a Californian anymore.

I was watching something on General Custer and his last stand. We completely fucked over the American Indians in this country, I don’t see committees demanding reparations for land taken, ways of life lost, etc. And if anyone should be complaining it should be them, we practically committed genocide.

So, maybe instead of reparations we can just let descendants of slavery open casinos? I guess it’s worked for the Indians.

According to this link its about housing discrimination. Not slavery.

There seems to be some conflicting or at minimum confusing articles being written about this bullshit. I suspect the intent is being re-defined in order to somehow make it more sellable.

As an example --- this article from Cal Matters
https://calmatters.org/california-divide/2022/03/california-reparations-task-force-eligibility/

Focuses on the "Slave" aspect and who qualifies. If it was strictly about housing discriminations, then are we to believe it was only decedents of slaves who were wronged ? Oddly, I can't find anything about housing discrimination in this article, it's ALL about Slavery and it states that the board amendment allowing all 2.6 million blacks, failed to pass a board vote.

Here's a couple of snippets from that article:

I think this a little over blown. Considering the majority of them are illiterate & 70% of black kids are born out of wedlock how the hell are they going to come up with documentation to show who their great great great grandparents are lol!

Just a PR stunt promising the same old bullshit nobody can cash in on outside a connected few.

LOL, the left says people of color can’t get an ID, how in the fuck can they expect them to prove they came from slaves.

You can’t make this shit up.

The left is a cancer. Only worse.

This is all about Gruesome Swollenhead angling for President, pandering for the black vote. And so much more.
Powers left to the States? Well seeing as how California wasn't even a slave state, in this case is comical. Or is it...

Open borders, 206,000 illegals, (that they know about,) came into the US in November. 2.6 million more illegals are estimated by the Biden Bozos coming in in 2023. All getting the free gov phone, financial support paid for by the U.S. taxpayer.

Now $600,000,000,000,000 in reparations to blacks, just in California? Quite sure they wouldn't roll this out nationwide, right... 😂

"Between 2000 and 2019, the Black African immigrant population grew 246%, from roughly 600,000 to 2.0 million. As a result, people of African origin now make up 42% of the overall foreign-born Black population, a substantial increase from 2000 when that share was 23%."

The pentegon has lost Trillions of dollars, so why would I expect the state of california to be able to track ancestry of people from the mid 1600's to 1808. On the surface its laughable, but when you look deeper it becomes criminal.

FUCK DEMOCRATS and yes that means you @530RL hahahahahhahaa

It will cost billions just to research who gets money. Whose pockets do you think those billions will line? Just another money laundering scheme.

Surprised nobody mentioned this, as far as I saw. If they give out that much money to all those people, what is that going to do to the cost of housing? Think CA is expensive now? Ain't seen nothing yet.

So I know this guy Stuart who live in Texas, works in the oil industry. He is from Africa but lives here for the work. He applied for some loan or grant that was for African Americans. He was approved so he goes to get the money and that just totally threw them for a loop.

He is from Africa and is now an American, but he is white so they didn't give him the money. Should of sued for discrimination.

Good should do it again.
Seems only fair. They could work hard and help build California, just like they did before, after the Transcontinental railroad was finished. Swarm the NorCal rivers turning over all the huge rocks and getting out all the gold underneath!
As reparations they could finish building the California Bullet train. Hey! They've got Priors!!!

I’m not Jewish, but how about them? There’s never been a group of people that have been mistreated/killed in RECENT history as the Jews. How many did the Nazis kill?

What have the Jewish people done about it? Put their heads down, went to school, worked hard, and became Doctors, Lawyers, and Judges.

California gained statehood in 1850, Emancipation Proclamation was January 1, 1863. Was slavery that prominent in those twelve and a half years?

So my family moved to the US in the 1920’s close to 60 years after the civil war. Would my tax dollars be funding this BS? That sure doesn’t seem right.
