Jesus, if thats a "Flintstone" video I will never post one again, just not worthy...

She sure sounds nice. I have a '65 Riviera and the nailheads have distinctive sound, very cool.

We cut the drive shaft to length, keyed it and put it in. I went through the entire boat, double checked and tightened every bolt as we were anticipating brining it to the river this weekend to test. While we went to fire it up again to tune, she bent a rod. o_O

Just when you think your hard work is paying off.. Fucked.

While the motor is in the shop, I removed the motor rails and steering brackets, ect..., cleaned them up, got them polished and bolted up for good. Hopefully next time we drop the motor in, it stays in.

I also took my Velvet drive to get rebuilt as it started leaking from the rear main seal. One less thing to worry about in the long run. 💸💸💸

Picked up a 3 blade prop from Oggie in Santa Ana. Booger Ray let me try one off his boat, but the shaft was too long.

Got the motor back last week from TG 's Performance Engine Shop in Gardena. After a $5.2k swipe of the card, we should be back in buisness. Tony at TG went through the entire motor and found all the clearences were to tight and a bunch of mismatched parts were installed by the previous motor shop. Probably the best thing that happend was Tony Constantino hearing the ticking and telling me to shut it down a couple weeks ago when we test fired. Would have loved for Tony C to do the entire rebuild, but him moving to Texas and all it was not an option at the time. Tony at TG has a bitchen shop and was a pleasure to work with. Now that I got the motor back in the boat, we will be taking the boat back to TG to break in and tune the motor.

Hopefully after that, last things to do would be to put the ski tow back on, bolt the drive shaft back up to the Velvet and pop the interior back in.

My Brother and I took her out for the 1st time yesterday! Motor felt great!

She had a pretty good hop that will need to be tamed down.

He will try a few different props, but I think she'll need some type of Cavitation Plate setup

I have been trying to dig up some history on early on Schiadas. If anyone has any old history they are holding back, lets hear it.

Here is a wood Schiada that I came across in my reaserch so far. For a moment I thought it may be mine, but the trailer and side stripe are a little different.

Tom at Jet Boat Performance might have some old photos to share.

Cool stuff. I have seen that picture of Leonard and I think his brother. The picture says "First Schiada" but that could have ended with nothing or anything (vdrive, OB or whatever...)

Pretty neat that my boat has that same center stringer and side stingers that go around the sides of the boat. Not claiming mine was the first, but would be pretty awesome if it was!
