Finishing up a '65 C10 big windown / fleet side build and looking for a set of 6 lug wheels. Truck currently has some 18" 90's Boyd wheels that are too wide and not the desired style. Open to steel wheels, vintage ralleys, etc. Anyone have anything?

After we get wheels figured out its off to paint....

8" Blazer rallyes would look good on that.
Love those trucks.

It's funny, the stock steel wheels that everybody used to throw away are going for $600 a set and listed as "rare" lol.

bigbore500, years ago I gave away the stock wheels that came off my old '64. Who knew? After I put on the later model rally wheels, I realized I liked the original better.

I remember tossing sets of them as well, cleaning out from behind the garage :D

Was thinking of these rally wheels with the 60's disc brake cap. These are 17" aftermarket, not sure if id run that size or stick with original 15"
attachment.php
Those are much better looking than what I used. Mine had the big cap that slipped over the lugs, individual little caps over the lugs.

How about some old school Anson's?
I'm negotiating on this truck...350/painless wiring/IDIDIT column..leave the Patina.
Seems like slotted mags are back in...and they're cheap(relatively speaking).

The mags arent the style we're going for. I agree they are coming back into style and the wheels are out there

Always been a fan of the rally wheel. If you go rally I'd go with the flat centers or these.

I’ll ask and see if we have anything. If you can find centers we can build them in a day or two.

I used something like these factory wheels back then. Picked them up at the Long Beach swap, looking back they looked like shit but the stock wheels were already gone. That was a great pickup, had it when I was rigging for Howard and Warlock and I'd swing by the suppliers in the morning and grab parts. Casale, L&L, whatever we needed.

I don't see anything about him worrying about what anyone thinks.

I read it as he needs wheels because he can't decide... It's fairly simple to go pick out wheels on line or at a store. Am I wrong?

I think he is selling the truck once completed so looking for a fair deal on some wheels that go better with the truck so he can maximize profits.

Finishing it up for a friend, he may keep it now. He's all pumped up after he drove it and did some burnouts

Mine had an almost bone stock 327 with a 350 trans. After seeing yours I was just thinking about when I bought if from my father in law. I was still at Advantage and the owner bought his son a new stretch cab dually, BBC. This was '88 or so and his son would routinely do burnouts with the new truck and really thought it was fast. He was just out of high school and like his dad, a great boat racer. I bet him lunch that my old '64 would kick his ass (I thought for sure he'd blow by me like I was tied to a stump) Raced him on Lakeview blvd and it wasn't close, he was a dot in the rearview mirror. Surprised the hell out of me. lol

Had an old under dash AC unit the would freeze your knees and nuts off.

We only have one now, I can ask Richard to check the swap meet if you want steel.

I don't like car rallyes on trucks, but that's me. If it sits right you can't beat steel with the dog dish. You could do 16, get better tire and still look og.

Yea, im on the fence about them also. I know the 70's "truck" rallys dont have the look we want either. Steel wheels with caps would look good. The previous owner of this truck shaved the trim, filled the bedrails, etc so it already has that 90's custom look happening. If the current wheels werent so wide and offset in the front we might even keep them, but they are just too damn wide and the offset doesnt allow you to run any kind of sidewall. The tire is super short creating a rough ride and making it steer all over the place.

Love the truck!

If you do go with the rally wheels, I think they look simplistic and cool with the police centers.

Have you looked into wheel smith out of Corona?
We had a set of odd sized Steelies made for my dads bronco. He asked some basic measurements and what style of cap, ring etc... they were about $165 per if I remember correct and powder coated the color of choice.

Definitely wheelsmith for that look. If they dont have the size or offset you want, we are a dealer and buy the hoops from them and build them to the car.

That's what I run in my El Camino with no trim rings. On its next redo doing 17 s with the police caps

It's funny and I know I'm probably in the minority here but I don't like big diameter wheels on vintage cars. I think it makes them look like an old hot wheels toy, the proportions are outta whack. 16 are nice though, after all old Fords had them. The truck bigbore is working on looks great, the wheels to me suck. No offense BB.

I do like just a little bit bigger wheel in some applications. But I get what you're saying. But finding tires in 15 is getting harder.

Yup, and 14" are usually "We're going to have to order those", that's why I'm looking into changing my boat trailer up to 15" or 16"

I recently inherited my uncles '65 Barracuda Formula S which came with 14's, which was their upgrade for the tiny 13's on the stock Barracudas. Car still has the Cragars he put on it in '66, I'm not sure what I'm going do about tires when the time comes. Only 29,XXX original miles on the ticker.

Tires are out there. Go to Tire rack.com
14 cragars would be cool
