6 x 9 Replacement

Has anybody replaced their 6x9 speakers with something of a different size? If so, we’re you able to modify the panel or did you have to have something built new? Maybe one of those JL 8” speakers?

The JL 880 with a small starboard ring works well. There are still a few good sounding 6x9’s around tho as well.
i happen to have a set of M880’s on a shelf (I’m selling btw ) i can get you an accurate measurement later of the outside of the grill in a bit

I have JL690c2 6X9s in my boat. They look good and work well.

I have four Fosgate T1693 6x9s in my boat and they sound great and they are reasonably priced. I'm a JL guy but a buddy recommended them to me a few years ago and i have no regrets and would buy them again

I'm going to just throw another set of 6 x 9's in the existing holes because I don't want to have the side panels re-done.
