It's Jerry Gilbreath's boat, former owner of Gil Marine. He and his dad raced Mandellas back in the 60's and early 70's. Their race boat was #96 "Gil T"

Yeah, got to talk to him for a minute. Super nice guy!
Awesome story how he got his dads boat back!

Best looking flat bottom hull ever.

I have to agree, but I'm real partial to Mandellas. It took me a long time to get mine and then another few years before we finally finished it.

Me too! My dad had one we used at Lake Arrowhead and Mead when I was in my teens. He recently restored a long deck, ran it a couple years on Havasu and sold it.

It would be nice to see some pictures, if you have them. I'm particularly interested in the installation of the adjustable cav plate and foot override (if it had one).

Thanks

Thank you. These are similar to what I have in my boat where the rod runs on the outboard side of the stringer. What I'm looking for is a setup for an adjustable plate with a foot override that runs on the inside of the stringer. I'm asking because many long decks have fuel tanks on the outboard side of the stingers and I want to know how they rig this with a foot override.

Can't tell you how many times I polished that v-drive (on the blue one) with semi-chrome. At least 20 times. Waxed all that blue aluminum once every spring too!

Yes, and fine job at that!
