Sucks big balls but she’s been a trooper so far.

ER yesterday, they tried to get it to go back into position with finger traps and weights but didn’t make too much of a difference pre and post xrays. Has a splint now and keeping it as elevated as possible.

Waiting for primary doctor of ours to call us and do a video consult to refer us to pediatric Ortho. May need surgery but hoping not.

Sucks when it’s one of your littles and I wish I could take her place, I’ve never broken a bone so I owe her one. Stupid Covid shiat and hospital rules wouldn’t let more than 1 parent in with her. So wife it was.

Her twin sister has been more than accommodating for her though, which is nice. Wife is a wreck... lol.

FUCK!

They need to knock her out and set it ASAP !

Every minute wasted is more pain as they will need to go in and cut the healing tissue...I hope you get some competent surgeons soon!

Prayers out to your little one and your family...I am actually shocked that the ER did not already do it?

Oh man, poor little thing. I remember when my son had to get 6 stiches under his eye a few year sago. You feel helpless. But you would be surprised how tough kids are.

Best of luck to your little one.

Thanks and true true. All she cares about is when can she swim, why can’t she swim, can she swim with a cast on, and many more questions.

Our kids are fish in water and swim in our pool pretty much 24/7. They turn almost black in the summer l, even with tons of suntan lotion.

Thanks. He said it made a significant difference having it in that torture device from before and after xrays and it looked almost back to where it should be.

Kids bounce quick, and have a bizarrw pain tolerance as well...it's like they don't realize it should hurt? Know the covid crap is sucking, we've been trying to get a kid in to a specialist...weeks or months.

Help Mom relax and help out if you can. It sucks seeing any kid hurt, but a whole new deal when it's your kid. Make sure you appear to have everything under control. Wife will calm, and kids do what kids do.
...and when no body's looking, I go out to the shop and beat things with hammers ;)

Been here a couple of times with my twins also. Even remember my sons arm in that Chinese finger trap too.
Temp cast until you can get to children’s orthopedic doctor-I recommend a orthopedic doctor that specializes in sports.
I gather from the break that the cast will cover the elbow and that’s the worst for summer. Once they switch to a arm cast there are water proof options.
To help with showers Amazon sells water proof covers for casts and can be used at the lake with a little common sense.
I will say the break hurts the parents more than the kids.

Broke mine 2 different times as a kid. Pain yes the look of it made it 10 times worse. Both times for me they had me bite a bullet and set it. When they put that warm cast on I was in heaven. Hope they get this done quick for your little girl. This covid shit does suck, especially when you all can’t be there for your loved ones.

2 years ago, my 7yo broke his elbow and needed surgery to repair, got 4 pins, full arm cast for about 4 months, physical therapy after that....but after about 6 months from when it happened, he was back to 100% normal and back doing the things he was doing when he broke it....its scary as a dad, but trust me, they bounce back.

Hope they get it handled quick for her and the pain isn't too bad. My son just got his leg casts off yesterday after 6 weeks and we still have a long road it seems.

Oh man. I feel you. [emoji3525]
Are there platelets (in the wrist) I think that’s what they referred to be concerned about. It’s been 20 years but when daughter jacked her ankle one of the big concerns where the platelets(if I’m remembering correctly anyway)
