Got a call from my upholstery guy, dropped the new seat frame off in July and told him to take his time. I almost forgot it was there. Turned out pretty good.

Patching some stress crack areas and taking the deck down to almost bare fiberglass to address the bad crazing. Going to overlay a layer of cloth and epoxy on the deck to keep them from coming back.

Looking Good, Those Seats are very similar to the tuck & roll seats I had in my Aqua Craft.
Keep it up, you will be on the water before ya know it.

Covered the front deck with glass and epoxy, sanded down and got the first coat of primer mostly blocked out. I have a few more coats of primer to spray and block then I'll send to the painter.

Sprayed on another coat of primer after blocking the hull. Also, started cleaning up the old cav plates to make them shine.

I don't think so, I will polish them and keep them waxed or covered with some sort of spray on protection. Not a real fan of the anodized look.

looks really good. What process and tools did you use to get to that stage? I hate sanding, too lazy and impatient haha. I'm always looking for new methods to try and find a way to make it faster and better result.

I have probably 40 hrs of sanding and 3 coats of primer. The deck was a mess. I used a straight Line air sander for most of the work to get it flat before I re-glassed it. For the rest, it was hand sanding. I used several different size Durablock's. I used an RO on the bottom to make it go faster but not on the top. I am impatient, too, but when I thought about how much they would charge me by the hour, it motivated me to keep going...........

40 hrs grinding, sanding is no fun.
It is very hard on tools, also
I burned out my grinder and sander motors, saw bearings On my project

Looking great, is this a 17’10? I have a 72 in the garage right now putting a velvet drive and new engine mounts etc. looks very similar. Good luck with the paint!

I replaced one RO and one grinder on this project, haha. All that dust and heat does a number on the motors........

I was gonna but was a lot more $$$$ than I thought. It will be Perfomance White and Navy Blue on the cap. He sprayed the blue the other day but had some bleed through at the tape in a couple areas so he had to sand, remask and respray some more white. On vacation now but he should be pretty close to done, waiting on pics!

Put an outdoor motor on it and call it “Pud Wacker”:D

And I’ve heard over and over it’s bad luck to change the name of a boat...
