View attachment 747374 View attachment 747375 Put a pic in another thread and some people were asking to see more. So I picked this Spectra up about 2 years ago, from a boat repair shop here in vegas, guy put it on CL for pretty cheap, I figured what the hell i'll check it out. He wanted $1200 without motor, asked him what was in it, had a new 454, so I talked him into selling the whole thing for 2k. Had been sitting in his yard for awhile, wanted it gone. Floors and interior were trashed, stringers were good. Even had the quad stringer setup with the belly tank, which from what I researched was pretty rare for a jet. Gel was pretty rough also, but I can polish a turd so gave it a shot.

I have a bad habit of looking at the best in these old boats, and picturing how they will look once they get another chance. So wet sanding, buffing and polishing away I went.

interior was the most work, pulled all the old wood out and used for template, the old floor was just pieced together. No resin or fiberglass, i'm guessing it was replaced at some point. So I got some new wood, slapped a few coats of resin on it and built some new seat bases. Put the new floor in, glassed it to the hull with 1/4-1/2" gap which spectra also didn't do from what I found in these boats. Kinda left it as a free floating floor, I wanted it rock solid so I tabbed it all in, and also made some gunnel supports.

Beginning to end, took me about 3 months. The boat turned out super nice, but just wasn't my taste in colors, and I didn't want to do any paint better to leave it original. Had someone offer me double what I had in it, so I sold it. It is now cruising Lake Castaic.

My old Spectra, you did an amazing job, it really turned out awesome. I always wanted to restore that boat but i got a job in SLC and had zero time, ended up buying same style boat already restored from a guy in Reno.

It was on the passenger side of the deck even with the passenger seat, the full tube passed under the passenger seat to the tank.
