Considering purchasing new Shockwave Tremor Walk thru open bow. Not sure if it makes sense to upgrade to 520 from 8.2 HO. The 520 also requires upgraded outdrive as well. Looks like an additional $15k for the set up.

Pros and Cons from those with experience with both

TIA.

520 has no cats. The 520 will come with hydraulic steering as a part of the package. Cool upgrade.

If your going to a production side engine. the 8.2 cat engine is NOT the way to go. I would do the Ilmor cat engine or the volvo cat engine - 300 to 350 Lbs less weight and will out perform the outdated build of an 8.2 L. I would bet there is not even 4000 of these 8.2 cat engines in boats and they have been out over 10 years now. They are not reliable at all nor sell either..

Not even 1 hp per cubes. 502 cid at 430 hp is laughable. hell that is so poor in the current engine world. You have 6.2 production marine engines not Mercruiser at 1.4 to 1.5 hp per cubes.

I would go with the 520 hp but again such an outdated platform.
