Picked this up a few months ago to enjoy with a few of my friends and family that already have stand ups. I've only ridden it once but the stock motor feels good, much better than my cousins 650 kawi. My plan is to rebuild the hull this winter, and possibly upgrade the motor next winter. It already has a few hull mods for handling, ride plate and grate.

So far I've purchased a stainless impeller, new grip/padding for the tray, straight bars and a spring for the pole. My plan is to modify the tray with foot wells and repaint the ski in the old school yellow and black livery.

Small update. I started removing the padding in the tray and we've got issues! It has significant cracks at the rear of the tray, and the base is bubbled up pretty bad towards the front, all of which was kind of expected.

The plan is to finish removing the padding, then I'll cut out the damaged areas. I'll epoxy/glass in a whole new piece in the tray. In the rear I'll grind out the damaged areas and repair with glass and resin. While the damaged areas are out, I'll remove the old foam and reseal everything, before replacing the foam.

Awesome! Is it just me or is doing a stand up feel pretty easy after finishing building a boat? Haha

No kidding, this is actually fun.

I just wish I had a little more time. The wife and I are both essential with two small kids, so I only get an hour or two at night when the kids go to sleep.

Cut out the tray and the foam was saturated with water. Now I'll dig out all the old foam, reseal everything, replace foam and fiberglass

Made some more progress. Rebuilt the pole with new bushings, spring, bars, grips and chin pad. Also installed new foam, fiberglass will go down this week.

Old thread - wondering if you've finished your project.

I also have a '91, which I'm having restored. At least I think I am. It has been in the shop for a year. Supposedly it got stuck at paint - multiple reworks. Shop owner says he will make it his priority in Feb. Fingers crossed. I'm now starting to look for a standby ski, which I would have done a year ago if I had known.. Might get the new 4stroke Superjet if they can ever get them built and to the dealers.

It's done for now. I finished the tray and re-did the padding, but I held off on printing it. Used it once and the fuel pump failed. I've since rebuilt the pump and carb, but haven't ran it sense.

Good luck on your project.
