Ok experts, I’m looking into purchasing a ‘95 Marlin, Nirvana, open bow, alpha I/O, 350ci. I cannot find any information on this boat whatsoever. I would like to know if these were good boats? What to look out for? It seems really clean other than the aged interior. I worry about the flooring but hard to tell what’s going on under the carpet. I read that the bravos are better than the alphas but is it really a concern for a family ski boat. Any information would be appreciated. I read that marlin went out of business in 91 but yet this boat is a 95.

I bought a Marlin 180 in 1994. I think they shut the doors soon after that. They were already swapping molds with Reinel. I don't remember that model at the dealership or in the brochure. I would classify Marlin as an OK entry level boat.

I think Aries is correct. I wouldn't worry about the Alpha as long as your keeping stock power. My concern would be resale when your ready to move up. If you get it really cheap then you could probably have some fun with it. try to step on all parts of the floor to see if it moves. Look at the stringers close to the transom. Take it for a ride and see if it wiggles going over boat wakes.

It’s an Aries, questionable build quality, if the floor is solid and price is right....
