I guess Imco wasn't that far off from quoting $1200 to what you have in the tank for $800. $400 is still $400 saved....

Imco had the best pricing out of the 3 that I had quoted. If I didn't have friends in the business I would have def gone that route.

Instead of wrapping the seat bases in carpet, I had them spray gel. Interior getting sprayed today!

Looks great. Will you carpet over the gel, or what is the plan for the floor? Thanks for sharing your build!

Gatorstep. Cascade design. I tailored the interior around this style and it’s been fun sharing this!

Picking up the boat today to start putting it all back together. I had the swim step re cleared to bring the whole boat back to a perfect shine.

Front seats mounted to the new base, I wanted the black to wrap the entire seat cushion but there was a communication error, lol. Either way, lets see how everything ties in when installed. Engine goes in tomorrow.

Drivers side panel buttoned up. Mini LED courtesy lights and stereo installed. Also got the JL 8.8s in the rear seat base. I should have it fired up Friday. Once I bring it up to temp I have to pull the manifolds off in order to re torque the heads. Tedious UGH

Engine fired right up, timing was dead nuts. We had some small carb adjustments but I am very happy. She sounds great. Bildge and wiring all cleaned up. Mounted some LED's in the rear engine compartment panels. I have an appointment Monday at Gatorstep for the template, the sad news is they are 4-5 weeks out.

These hulls eat up all those wakesurf wakes! Its a cut down Schiada 24 so this is one of the reason it rides so well.

Does this hull have the transom notch and delta pad? I know they switched in 97 but there isn’t much info about exactly when

Test run. Interior is in to check fitment. Engine interior panels need slight adjustment. Stereo is wired. Going to foxes.

Looks incredible, Can’t wait to see how the flooring turns out. How do you like the closed deck vs open bow?
I’ve always been a closed bow guy. I think they look better and ride better. I also wouldn’t mind doing some type of overnight trip on the water somewhere. That little bed is surprisingly comfortable.

Good to know. I’ve always thought an open bow is best for a family but nobody sits up front while underway anyways

I saw you cruising it around this weekend. Good looking boat, even my picky wife said she wants one just like it.

How did it run? Notice a difference with the new tank?

This thing is turning out so killer. Would love to hear how you like the audio setup. My Ultra23 interior is basically the same size and layout as the inside of this boat, and I need to upgrade speakers. Does it sound OK with all the speakers down low?

You're the second person to say that. LOL My friend said he is purposely not going to show his wife cause she would make him sell his boat.

She ran great, It has a great ride and is very stable. Not like it didn't before but more planted with all the weight in the bottom.

This speaker set up blew my mind. The clarity and sound was unreal. I didn't even need to turn it up half way while cruising and my boat is loud. The old system I would have to max out while driving. I'm very impressed and this stereo is overkill.

I had to remove all the interior so Gatorstep could measure the floor, so I'm playing with some accent lighting for the night runs. I should have the rendering on the floor layout and design very soon.

Gator is running me 1,800. That’s to do the entire floor, mid cabin and engine compartment. I’m not having them cut around the seat bases which would save me a little, I’m going right over the top of it. The engine bay will be done in all black with grey accent, that way if anything spills you won’t see it.
You don’t have to gel the floor, gator just needs a good clean surface. The gel for the floor ran $900. I also had him gel the seat bases, clear the swimstep and cut and buff the hull which ran me another $800.
Let’s just say I blew way over budget. Lol.

damn, in the hatch too? What budget? [emoji23]

Generally speaking, this overhaul seemed to get done really quick. I can’t wait to see the final product. [emoji1303]

Covid played a good role in the quickness. I had the boat a part when the virus hit and everyone didn’t have work, so I gave them work! Knowing people in the industry helped too.

Boat ran great this past labor day weekend. I am noticing a bit more oil out of the breathers above 4k so I'm going to set up a puke tank. Received my render from gatorstep and I made a few adjustments to get it just right. I can't wait till she's done because I'm tired of towing this thing back and forth from OC. LOL I just want to leave it in Parker for good.

What prop are you running and what speeds are you seeing with the new motor set up?

Bravo 28p that came on it. I haven’t had it pinned out yet but close. With a full tank and 5 adults, I hit 65 ish. I also didn’t have the plates all the way up. I would assume she’s maxed at 75 ish??? I’m still on a Bravo 1 drive with 468 hrs so I’m trying to be gentle. When she breaks I plan on running imco goodies and playing with a 5 blade.

Thanks for the info. I had a Merc lab 28 on my Howard Bullett with a Teague 525 and went down to a lab 27 and it made a decent difference. It came on plane quicker and was able to rpm better on the top end. I think at 3000 it was going 46-47 mph which I thought was nice. I believe you have a 496 with a 4-1/4 inch stroke so your set up should make more torque down low so maybe you can swing a bigger prop?

I’m definitely going to play props. Hill marine is minutes away from me so I’m going to pick his brain.
