Working on a 77 Cherokee Chief. Motor is in. Trans going in soon. Want to have the A/C compressor checked out before I install. Suggestion on a good shop near the La Verne (So Cal) area?
Thanks

Been a looong time, but there used to be a rebuilder down on Price St in Pomona...just west of the Edison yard, across from a very sketchy trailer park...

If it's a 77, may still be a York style. Not a lot in the new offerings, but if you cross the numbers, a lot of semi trucks used them into the 90's.

Are you doing a restore? If not, go with a new retrofit of a rotary compressor. WAY smaller, lighter, and go with 134a since it's readily available and cheap.

Yes it’s a York. From what I have been able to find out on the Full Size Jeep forums the options are limited. My thinking is that since it will be a cruiser/camper/weekend warrior it’s not critical. Trying to avoid major cost and adapters etc.
